Atlantis team gets wet in 'Submersion'

Friday - September 1, 2006 | by Darren Sumner

The first info has arrived for a previously unknown episode of Stargate Atlantis! "Submersion" is expected to air as the eighteenth episode of Season Three.

Here's the info provided by SpoilerFix.com:

"The team search for an alternative to Z.P.M.s, but when they are under water in a Jumper, it breaks down. A visitor is quite shocking."

"Submersion" will premiere this spring on SCI FI Channel in the United States. Stick with GateWorld for more on the episode as it becomes available, and visit the Season Three episode guide to learn more about what is to come!

Sounds like the Atlantis team might be looking at a modified form of hydroelectricity or something similar.

Thoughts.

Why am I seeing a huge similarity to 'Grace Under Pressure' here?

Well, not all rehashes were that bad. Let's hope something new and exciting comes from this. They will probably not meet Carter down there either. 1.gif

A visitor is quite shocking ??? blink.gif Like those doctors say it in Half Life: "Who is responsible for this mess?" dry.gif

Rehashes aren't bad if there is actually a decent amount of time between the episodes but to have a similar storyline in episodes that are produced barely a year apart is not good IMO.

TBH there wasn't much more than a year apart (okay fine two years) between GRace and GRace Under Pressure and that rehash did nothing but wonders ;)

They were meant to be related to each other though hence the similarity in the names of the episodes but this episode, as far as I can tell, is not meant to be related to 'Grace Under Pressure'.

I wonder if they will introduce more underwater creatures, maybe something more creative than a whale with extra fins. rolleyes.gif

The early plot details say that they are searching for an alternate power source to ZPMs so they're not going to be looking for a ZPM.

Maybe they have data for Volcanic activity near there and they want to tap into the geothermic energy as we have seen in 'Inferno'.

i doubt it after all from what we've seen in inferno the geothermal energy can be very unstable if used for long periods it does sound like some new form of hydro electricity (perhaps incorperating some ancient
designs from the database)

If you take shocking literally, then it could be something that electrocutes the PJ, disabling it.

Why would Ford be underwater?
