How about if Sheppard, McKay and Ronon manage to get their hands on one of those two Hive ships, destroy the other one, and salvage the other one for Atlantis?

I think (this is just a guess) that the theory of Shep being close enough to a hive as they went into hyperspace is possible the correct one. |

TPTB have already given them the Orion, Atlantis isn't going to get another ship, especially a Wrath Hiveship. There is no way they would be able to man it, they are huge. |

I agree with daf it's unlikely that they will get a hive ship just yet. personally i don't think that the wraith technology is there own from what i've seen they don't have a great understanding of how it works after all they wanted mckays help in allies.back on topic it would be cool though if they did manage to retrieve a hive ship |

At least, maybe they can get a grab on how their technology works, obtaining a greater understanding on the Wraith Hive ship technology could serve to Atlantis' advantage as well.

Here are details on the first episode of the season...
QUOTE After their temporary alliance with the Wraith backfires, the Atlantis team must find a way to stop two Wraith hive ships that are headed for Earth. Weir (Torri Higginson) orders Colonel Caldwell (Mitch Pileggi) to attack the hive ships using the Daedalus and the Orion before she is ordered to return to Earth to account for her team's failures. Sheppherd (Joe Flanigan), who was able to survive by latching his F-302 to the hull of a Wraith ship, is forced to rely on a now ostracized Michael (Connor Trinneer) to help him save McKay (David Hewlett) and Ronon (Jason Momoa), who are being held prisoner by the Wraith. Ronon and McKay are able to free themselves from their cocoon prisons with a plan to sabotage the ship in a last act of heroism. All plans collide as the Daedalus and Orion engage the hive ships while Sheppard, McKay and Ronon are still aboard. Yeah, the Orion will get in the action !!! |

I hope it doesn't get blown up.... but I bet it will!!!!! I think it is mentioned in a later episode in the season, but I can't remember where... I'll be checking this out... EDIT: No, I checked and didn't see anymore signs of the Orion in later episodes... Well, that doesn't mean it's not there, but we're getting closer to your suspicion... Just my own option (?!?!):
I honestly think it would be pointless in destroying the Orion (as we've just only recently acquired it - what wonders does it hold??). I'm sure the Orion will have a pivotal part to play in series 3 (not read anything) - maybe in not winning many/ major battles but by giving SGA a better understanding of her advanced tech (??). |

The atlantis team do manage to get their hands on hive ship. They use becketts retrovirus to turn all of the wraith into humans, they then go drop them all of on a deserted planet.
Too see more info on this go to Gateworld, Atlantis Season 3 |

People, this thread is only for those who have not seen the episode yet. Those of you who have seen the episode, the S03E01 thread is open...
There is no use saying:"Oh, look, you were wrong, I have seen the episode and this is what happens". This is a spoiler thread, not an episode discussion thread... Am I right? |

The Wraith scientist explained to Rodney in 'Allies' that a lot information has been lost over the thousands of years the Wraith have existed and the problem has worsened since their species has begun dividing and infighting. Given that situation, I'd also think that they're not as freely sharing information with each other as they once may have in the past. Just my H.O.
