"[Felger] invents a virus capable of infecting a specific gate and scrambling its DHD, effectively shutting it down. It seems like a good idea, but when the virus is tested, it spreads rapidly throughout the gate network, shutting down the entire system. Teams are stranded off-world, a certain System Lord is taking advantage of the situation to make a major power play, and O'Neill is somewhat ... displeased. It's a race against time to restore the gate network before its too late."
From Executive producer Joseph Mallozzi, in his Season Seven production diary (gateworld.net) |

Hopefully this means we'll get to see Walter and Siler in action.
Walter: Chevron one is...(the system locks up)...okay that's not good. Hammond: Is there a problem, Sgt? Walter: Yes, sir you could say that. Felger, O'Neill and Carter stand side by side looking at the overhead monitors that are flashing warning messages. O'Neill: Uh, Carter? Felger: There's no need to worry Colonel, the virus is simply testing the system. More warnings go on, the gate starts to act funny. O'Neill: (worried) Carter? Okay, I retract my previous comment. I have just watched The Other Guys. I should have said who's going to shoot Felger first!

Uh, god, those morons are back again. They couldn't buy a clue if their lives depended on it.
And who gave them authority to mess around with the Stargate's programming? Hammond? If so, I am going to lose all respect for him. Yep, definately want O'Neill to shoot Felgar, like he did to Maybourne. Sooooo satisfying. And necessary. How are SG1 going to get out of this one? Can't wait to find out. But, hopefully the ending will mimic the one at the end of "The Other Guys": them getting a figurative slap in the @$$ and the SGC sending off on their merry little diluted way. Oh, the horror of it all! |

Here are some more detailed spoilers from sg1_spoilme:
AVENGER 2.0 Jay Felger, last seen in the season six episode "The Other Guys," is back to wreak havoc on the SGC. He still hero-worships SG-1, and believe he has an unspoken bond with his fellow warrior, Jack O'Neill. Felger and his assistant, the cute Chloe, are working on a high-tech beam weapon that could be used as a weapon against the Gou'ald. Unfortunately, he's not making the headway he envisioned. Hammond has a timeframe he wants met, so to save his skin (and his job) Felger tells them he has a weapon - a computer virus. His assistant is mortified. The 'Avenger' virus is nowhere near ready. He says this virus will render a target gate useless, which sounds good on paper, but as earlier spoilers have indicted, turns into a disaster when it shuts down the SGC's gate, and also leaves the base vulnerable to attack. Meanwhile, O'Neill and Teal'c are busy negotiating with rebel Jaffa leaders, and Daniel is on a planet with another team(?), but the planet is experience seismic disturbances. From the sounds of it, Felger's computer virus maroons most of the SG-1 off-world while Carter must work with Felger to put things right. #thanks to 'ferret' for the tip http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sg1_spoilme/ |

thanks for the update Arcady!
based on this new info, I can tell this episode is going to be hysterical (I hope I Hope I hope!) I guess they couldn't get Billingsley (Coombs) to pull out of "Enterprise" for a week. He's a good actor I like him.... |

If the virus infests a DHD, then that would mean that Earth is unaffected (it doesn't use a DHD). Earth could use a naqadah reactor to power the gate manually.

but they got a computer system that acts like a dhd(just a hell of a lot slower!), so it most prob affects the computer system! and if they do power the gate with a naqadah reactor how are they gonna dial the
co-oridatas!(soz bad spelling) |
