It also mentioned that Shar'e was given to Daniel as a gift. Imagine getting a gift like that smile.gif Sam didn't think it was so great though. She made a McGyver Joke in the Abydos gate room too if I remember correctly.

I didn't think it was a secret location or anything, but merely logistics that prevented people from visiting?!?!?

I thought their little banter at the beginning was fun enough. That scene could have gone over the top, but I think they pulled it off quite nicely. Any comments?

Actually according to something I read on the official MGM website it has to do with safety and insurance as much as anything else. There are lots of things going on and they wouldn't want anything to happen to anyone who they don't actually have working there. And it is in BC.

The reason they do not let people in is this, you can see the hole set in 5 mins. whistling.gif To Have alot of people walking though would desruped the set all day long,(they have enough to worry about). I know this might sound a little finger pointing, but fans have a tendencey to pick up suvaneares. You can see the whole sete in WORMHOLE X-TREME! smile.gif and most of the crew, they had cameo shots. If you notice also, that most of the episodes are outside, or around, or in Vancuver. You go to Vancuver, you go to Stargates site. cool.gif

True, and can you imagine the nitpicking some of us would do there? I think I'd do the same (keep out visitors) if it were my show tongue.gif

Well that's true. We'd all be complaining about something not being like the show - only it is the show!!! wink.gif But to quote from the MGM web site:

Q. Is it possible to visit the set in Vancouver?
A. No, due to liability and safety issues where the series in filmed, the
set is not open to the public for visitation.

but also:

Q. How can I contact the actors or the production office?
A. You can write to any cast or crew member involved in the show at
the address below:

Stargate SG-1
c/o MGM
2501 Colorado Avenue
Santa Monica, CA 90404

The conversation should have gone a little more like this:

O'neill: "What's your name?"

Teal'c: "Teal'c"

O'neill: "Teal'c. Kinda sounds like a blueish-green baby powder, huh?"

Teal'c: "Indeed."

Sentiment understood, but explain this - why do Canada and the US share the same international dialling prefix? The country code for both nations is "1". You'll note that virtually every other country has a 2 or three digit international dialling prefix. Certainly makes it seem like they're fairly closely related. wink.gif

BTW, don't shoot me because I have several Canadian friends, am a citizen of a Commonwealth country, and am really just pulling your leg! whistling.gif

And at least Canadians can spell words like colour correctly! THANK GOODNESS! tongue.gif

In the very beginning when the lady is kidnapped, how is the gate reopened. Did they go up to the dialing computer?

Well at least as many times as you spammed yesterday in any case.

Enrico Ng, welcome aboard, your question is a mystery to us. You are correct, there was nothing shown. Just think of it as "introducing story lines" rather than go insane trying to answer it. Same with most things relating to the gate actually, dialling sequences, orders, back to front issues and so forth. Just smile and move on smile.gif

what muddles me is they came through an open wormhole leading to the base but then went through it again and if im right which i think i am then your not aloud to go through an open wormhole back to the planet which you dialed out cause you have to start a new wormhole from where youve landed to get back to where you started.
rite huh.gif online2long.gif

Oh ussshorty tsk tsk tsk I would've thought YOU would have known this by now tongue.gif We put up with the question from newbies, but you???

Here is the steps, simple:
1) Gate opens
2) Round thing (probe) comes through
3) Jaffa step through
4) Apophis steps through and immediately VISUALLY and AUDIO shows the gate shutting down
.
.
.
bang bang bang, bloodshed...

5) Apophis glances at the gate and mumbles something to Jaffa
6) Scenes cut, time delay, anything could have happened
7) Jaffa walks back up the ramp from within the room
8) Gate is open again, bye bye.
