You really liked the ep? Eh, not so much for me. I know it was an important one in terms of giving us information on the Goa'uld, I just thought it could have been done better.
What was that husk thing they pulled out? I know snakes (real ones I mean) shed their skin, but this is not something we've seen Goa'uld do. |

What is the definition of "a god"? A being that creates, maintains, terminates another. A being of inspiration and guidance, even if through fear. A being that is worshipped (even if through fear again). Sounding more and more like the Goa'uld as I write. Sure, Teal'c is through, but will he ever truly be free of his god?
(Spoilers for 6x19 Changeling) Even in the face of death (on that planet) what did he turn to for survival and comfort? Huh, huh huh huh? Answer me that! |

If the Goa'uld are gods, then so would be the Asgard - after all they masquaraded in Norse mythology. But the Goa'uld seem to be more wide spread across more civilizations - Egyptian, Greek, African, Indian, Chinese. But given the role of the Asgard, I think that we have to consider the Goa'uld as being people who took on the role of gods to early civilizations.

the asguards and gould's are not real gods both of which are false.
so theoretically that makes them non-gods, the only thing which makes the asguard a little like gods is they are more advance in technology. |

Yes and no in my opinion. The point by chiroho that if the Goa'uld are gods then so must the Asgard I tend to disagree with. Can't the Asgard be the false gods, with the Goa'uld the real ones??
Do gods need technology? I think not. Or should I say I think Nox? LOL |

The simple fact that we are unable to see the technology that the Nox use, does not mean that all their abilities are innate. For all we know they have little microchips implanted in their brains that allow them to manipulate other micro technology that is emplanted in the twig structures in their hair!! |

True, so true. And we shouldn't rush to judge them as SG1 themselves erred. However, isn't there a small part of you chiroho that believes some beings can have powers we cannot comprehend? Must everything to us be brought back to a computer chip (of sorts)???
I for one don't think of us as that much advanced. Looking at the bigger picture there's bound to be so much more out there. |

Maybe, but I'm moving my discussion to The Nox thread here rather than take this one down (it IS The Enemy Within afterall, let's give those guys who want to discuss it a chance).

Instead of killing ALL my comments here with your one word irrelevant spam comments such as the one above, why don't YOU just bring it back on topic? You're the cause of all this; you truly are the Enemy Within!
I try my hardest to start discussions here only to have you come along to plant your name everywhere - grow up please! Or at least stay out of it. Thank you. |

Accepted. Not that that is important by any means (my acceptance I mean). I too am most sorry. I had just finished trying to turn around alot of these entering-spam threads and then I read this one line - it just pushed me over the edge.
I was out of line to say the things I did, and I am sorry. I won't edit it though, and will leave it here on record for all to see Having said that, now I will leave this thread to you to get back on topic as you wanted to. Cheers. |

thanx for accepting my apology.
do you think they will ever come up with a way to remove the symbiote from the host without killing the host? |

Interesting proposition - the Goa'uld themselves are quite vocal in saying it can't be done, and "nothing of the host survives". That is until you point a gun at its head then it's all "no, no, you'll kill the host too".
Although we have seen the Tok'ra remove Klorel. A normal occurance? Or a rare coincidence?? It's not surprising Frasier and the other SGC docs couldn't do anything for Kawalski as they had no idea what they were dealing with this early in the series. Perhaps now in S7 they'd have greater success. |

The Tollan figured it out. The managed to get Klorel out of Skarra. Even managed to construct a device that could switch between them, and indicate who you were talking to. |
