Season 1, Episode 4 - The Broca Divide
Original Air Date: August 15, 1997

The SG-1 team travels to a planet known as P3X-797 and discover a world divided between a dark and light side, with a population similarly split between the Untouched (a Bronze Age people who seem almost like the Minoan civilization of Earth) and the Touched (heavy-browed primitives with limited skills).

Ho ya! This episode ruled! Tanktop Sam! wub.gif

This is the one where Jack probably thought he was gay after managing to turn down Sam. I know that most straight guys in his position wouldn't be strong enough to do that. In real life that is. Only on TV can a single guy turn her down.

A link to the infamous "Hot and sweaty Sam in tiny tanktop" is in my sig. Check it out. You know you want to. biggrin.gif

I've just started getting my S.O. interested in Stargate, and I made the mistake of watching this with her.

She has a great deal of knowledge about the science behind this particular episode, and I got a comentary about all the things that were incorrect... rolleyes.gif

She's enjoying the series though. tongue.gif

Oh good grief! Get a hold of yourselves people! Anyone would think that this thread was made up entirely of 15yo males!!! biggrin.gif

The reason O'Neill turned down Carter is because he realised that there was something wrong. I'm sure he didn't think any less of himself for doing that. After all, he passed that little remark at the end of the episode that went something along the lines of:

Carter: Uh sir?
O'Neill: Yeah?
Carter: About my earlier behavior. I wasn't myself, I-
O'Neill: Oh Carter, I don't even remember your earlier behavior.
Carter: You don't?
O'Neill: No, I was affected too, remember?
Carter: Right. Good, I'm glad.
O'Neill: By the way, how's the wound?
Carter: Wound?
O'Neill: I understand you got stabbed in the stomach or something?
Carter: Oh! Yeah, it's nothing. With any luck there won't even be a scar.
O'Neill: Oh good, I was concerned.
Carter: You were?
O'Neill: Sure. If it doesn't heal properly you'll never wear that sweet little tank top number again.

Other people got to find out about it to get courtmartialed.

Plus if they were under the influence of some virus, they could have done it and got away with it

Virus, drugs, alien influence?? Would these things matter to a US court marshalling marshall (or whatever it's called)??? Surely you have to always be responsible for your actions no matter what.

"O'Niell" Lucy I'm home "Teal'c"- I am not a Lucy "O'Niell" Of course your not let me out of here. "Teal'c" No I will not, you refered to me as Lucy dry.gif I like that line too biggrin.gif This is why Stargate is #1 in my books. The only thing that has changed is the graffices are super. The characters are the same great and funny people. Some people think it isn't good unless you changes the people, different people. They have changed, they are funnier. There timing is on the money. biggrin.gif tongue.gif

There is a better pic to have in my sig but I couldn't find it. It was a scene where I think Sam was against a wall. I'm not sure. I haven't seen this episode in a while. Anyways, it was one of the many *filler* episodes SG-1 has between main storyline episodes. For a filler, it was pretty good.

I watched the episode again and I could find a better view of Sam in the locker room. I was disappointed. I had hoped to get a picture of that and stick it in my sig as well.

I guess it was Taboo in their culture to draw blood. I find it cool how Teal'c beat up those two bouncer guys and took the blood anyways.

Is it just me or did anyone-else think that the acting from RDA was simply outstanding. We are so used to seeing him being funny that sometimes we forget that he can pull of some very dramatic stuff as seen in this episode.
