Was a funny ep and I like how Harlen (man he was annoying with his I'm the last person here but I'll be annoyingly ****** cheerful anyway attitude) disintergrated Teal'c. And I love how they did visuals when Jack cut open his arm to find that he had become a machine/robot/artifical sinificant other.
And wasn't Daniel just so cute when he realised that they could live forever |

Why don't they make a lot of "SG1" teams and let them go fight the Goa'uld?? Never mind the ethics, if you can wipe out the enemy without risking a human life, isn't that what it's all about?!?!??

I'm afraid Iraq is out of our hands, as frustrated and angry as I am about it, there's nothing I can do. But if it's not him, I guess we'd go after someone else.
But really when you think of the technology used to create these robots, that's pretty amazing, sure beats the replicators. Sudden thought, who's with me here, Reece... Harlem... why we never made this connection before??? |

Isn't that the idea? To use them instead of endangering human life? Don't humans come above all other beings? (slightly sarcastic)

no as much as wed hate to say it we are just like those robots just like them we are abbused by our govement like telling us that we are going to war with iraq and that we have to deal with petrol prices going up and they are ordered about just like us and they do have their own oppinions just like us.

AND therein lies the irony; America is fighting for what it believes, for freedom and democracy, to extinguish the dictator. Yet the one thing it can't control is its own leaders. But, this is neither the time nor the place for that.
I still say create some robots and send 'em after Anubis (and anyone else we don't like). Or at the very least have a Carter or two in reserve in case the original gets sick or something. |

Why not? I mean they are exact replicas. But anyway, so noone thinks Harlen could be Reece's father? Awww I thought I was on to something there.

ok i know you dont think im any expert or anything cause im not but i think that no robot can ever be a replica of the person it cant have the memories or have the feelings that the person was feeling at that time.

The reason is simple. If you watch the episode again they quickly run out of power if they are away from the plant for too long.
Launching any kind of attack with these would have to use some massive power source. Also, Harlem said that the 'others' left with smaller power generators that they made themselves - exploiring the universe and getting rid of a nasty case of cabin fever I bet... So it may be possible that they helped to create Reece, although the technology she has seems far more superior.(i.e. ability to absorb metal and create her 'toys' and also a self sustaining power source. [edit] Actually...I'm watching DoubleJepardy (Ep 421) right now...and the robot sam made a power pack that lasts for 48 hours... [/edit] |

gee for such an advanced race, and with all that time the robot guy had on his hands, I would think he would have invented a way to make his battery last longer.
just like how the goa'uld or any of the races have thought of putting an Iris on their gate. Don't any of the races care who comes through the gate. Earth seems to be one of the most heavily guarded gates and we're primative. |

Ahhh there's the answer!! The power issue! They can't make a zillion SG1's to fight snakes as they'd run outa power. Hmm Naquadria???
Oh well I guess Harlen couldn't have had anything to do with Reece then either as she was that much more advanced - damn, a good theory out the window there. |
