Season 3, Episode 3 - Fair Game
Original Air Date: July 9, 1999 Asgard leader, Thor, tells O'Neill that the Goa'uld System Lords plan to attack Earth, and offers help in negotiating a peace deal. How many of you out there love Thor? This show is amazing how they can portray aliens in such a positive light and also to have such a great "dry" sense of humor. I love it! it's always so enjoyable to watch the interaction between jack and Thor.

why don't they just use a naquedah reactor to power the SGC, i mean it costs loads just to turn the lights on!!!! this would give them more of a reason to keep it running, we are using new tech to cut costs! and then we could put the asguard home world on speed-dile!!!!!

The Goa'uld System Lords seem to have taken Niirti's stealth technology and then let her go. You'd think that they would have punished her more.

do u know that
nittri is the hindu goddess of darkness.a deceitful destructive deity she uses her power of invisibility to wreak havoc wherever possible. yu is not a god in the true sence, but the fact he was supposed to have sprung from the body of a dragon gives him certin mythical kudos. |

Yu is a nice guy. He didn't kill Teal'c and shared info with us. Then we gave him info on Baal. He seems to be the nicest System Lord and if we ally with any of them it'll be with Yu. Supposedly he also treats his people better than the other Goa'uld.

Yeah, but Yu has only been this way with us because it was benificial to him. What will happen when we have something or someone he wants, bet he won't be so nice then.

It's interesting, I didnt really RATE him much when I first saw him but he just keeps on showing up.
I dont think I would call him one of the good guys - as a goua'uld he's GOT to be eeeevil, that's a given isnt it? Still I like his taste in body servants (aka Daniel season 5 in coffee silk - WOOF!) |

I don't know. I think originally he might have been ALMOST a Tok'ra, but after this long of maintaining the status guo? He's one of the better System Lords, yes, but whether he is or can anything else now is a different matter.

I'm not so sure that Yu is that great of a guy. Don't forget that he attacked Daniel while he was trying to take Osiris back to the Tok'ra. I'm sure if Yu had a weapon he would have used it against Daniel.

i do not think Yu any different to any of rest of the false gods- although Daniel jackson did say he was not a god a such like the others. The only reason he was passable when it came to nice ness was the fact that he had found out that Nirrti had been back stabing him and he really has no use for the earth guys up to that point as he comes from a different part of the system. It takes a while before he comes interested in us!

Although this was an ok ep, it is probably one of my least faves.
It was in my opinion, pretty boring, but quite an essential ep to the series, if this ep didnt exist, would the show have been able to go on for as long as it has? I mean........if we hadnt made the treaty it wouldnt make sense as to why the Goa'uld havent wiped out earths population, therefore, it would make things too unbelieveable. Although, what ever makes sense in sci-fi?! |

I liked the fact that Carter finally got promoted to the rank of Major, its only fair considering that she's saved the world more times than most Generals.
Talking about generals, when will Hammond get promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General? He has saved the world on a few occaisions too (or at least assisted), and unlike in such cases as Colonel O'Neill, if a promotion was offered to General Hammond it won't change the course of the series much. If you stand back and look at it though, it actually makes sense to have Hammond promoted. I mean, how many two-star Generals are in command of quite possibly the most vital facility on the planet (thats a job for a Four-star General). |
