| SG-1 Archive Celebrates 7th Anniversary |
The Stargate Information Archive is seven years old today. It would not have lasted this long without the help, support, and generosity of thousands of Stargate fans from around the world. I started the site as a simple episode guide, and it has turned into a genuine community of fans.
The forums were started on November 26th, 2002 and will have a three year anniversary in a couple weeks.
Thanks to everyone who has donated, whether with money, artwork, information, or just contributing in a positive way on the forums.

| New Section: Atlantis Wallpaper! |
I have opened a new section on the site: Atlantis Wallpaper
The new section is starting out with 15 wallpapers, graciously contributed by Abbey. Each one is available in three sizes: 800x600, 1024x768, and 1280x960.
If anyone has created Atlantis wallpaper or artwork that they would like added to this collection, please send me a message and we will consider it for addition to the page. (We are still accepting contributions to the SG-1 wallpaper section as well.) |

| New Section: Screensavers! |
The Stargate Information Archive has a new section just for screensavers. With the help of a talented 3D artist (Mikael Linder) we are now offering our first download in the new section: The SGC Screensaver. This simple screensaver shows the SGC logo as it rotates on a black background.
Here's a small sample of how it looks:

The screensaver is available for Microsoft Windows (98/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003) and Apple Macintosh (Mac OS 9 thru 10.4).
You can download the latest version on our new Screensavers Page. Hopefully it is the first of many new ones to come. |

| Server Move Coming Soon |
I'm sure some of you have noticed that we keep running out of bandwidth near the end of each month. As a result of this, I have decided to move the site to a dedicated server that provides more monthly bandwidth, and should be faster as well. This costs a bit more, but it will keep the site up through the whole month, without having to constantly monitor the amount of bandwidth used, so that I can purchase more if needed.
There is only one downside to this new server: The files (including all of the forum data) will have to be moved to the new server, and the IP address of the site will change, so it means that I will need to turn off users' ability to post new messages (on the current server) as this move takes place. The new server will have posting ability turned on, so if you see the forums but are unable to post, then that means you have hit the old server while we are in the process of moving the site. (I'll post a note here when the server is about to be moved.)
I'll try to keep all of the website and existing forum messages available while the move is happening. You will not be able to use the PM system or some features until the move is complete. It should take 12-24 hours for the DNS changes to propagate through the internet.
If you have any questions about the changes, please let me know. I don't want to keep people from using the site, but this move is necessary to keep the site running smoothly in the future.
Technical details about the new server for anyone who would like to know:
Intel Quad Xeon with 8192MB RAM Triple OC-48 redundant connectivity UPS and Generators for power backup Cisco GSR 12000 routers
The site runs on Linux, and the content is produced on Macs. |
