Not at all, this topic deserves it's place of honor and revere.
I'd say you've made a pretty fair assessment. As if re-building a civilisation would be appointed to a supreme commander, that's what regular commanders are for. No, Thor's taken some leave and is currently traipsing the galaxy with his younger lover in tow. He's the envy of all the other Asgard, he has the whole of his cloned life ahead of him, he's got his bigass space ship aka 'PimpShip', and he's hitting a General.
