Its weird but even though there's nothing more I would like than Jack with Sam at the end, I think that going "Full Circle" and seeing him contemplating all the adventures and stars through his telescope would be a far more fitting end to the whole saga adventure thang.
Don't kill me Jack/Sam shippers, I still am one of you! |

In theory, at least, there's no reason why both couldn't be worked in to the last episode somehow ie Jack asking Sam to go fishing and her accepting his invitation (we don't necessarily have to see the fishing itself) would be the second to last scene. The final scene would then be Jack on his roof, contemplating the last 8 years or however many it is by that stage. It may or may not work, but it's a thought. |

scjon: Love it, will add it to the fanfic plotbunny list. Or we could have Jack and Sam both admiring the stars from his roof, both lying on the sunwarmed shingles(holding hands?) and contemplating what has happened in the last 8 years. This would also show development from Jack in the movie/pilot(depressed, single, looking at the stars) to Jack at the end(at peace, paired up

If you do write this, I'll just have to read it. I would love to have Sam there as well and I had thought about it..., I knew I should have put it in....Great idea about showing the development though. This post has been edited by scjon: Sep 28th 2004, 5:12 AM |

Fic done! TY scjon for the inspiration...
It's really short, only a page. That was VG, and to be perfectly honest, i now DEMAND that is the basis of the last ever episode, it is such a fitting end to all the stories, all the trouble and all the fun. It seems such a powerful, but simple ending. Great!

It wasn't too short/fluffy? There was enough description? This post has been edited by aliaras: Sep 30th 2004, 2:52 PM |

Nope, it wasn't too short or fluffy and yep, there was enough description. Too much can weigh down the narrative, but you got the balance about right. |

I picture in the end, there will be one of two things that will happen...
Ending one: Liara -- from A Hundred Days -- returns into his life, along with her is a child which she gave birth to back in season 2? --I am obviously only speculating on that matter because of how the actress had her hand near her belly at the end of the episode as she watched Jack return through the stargate -- Ending two: Assumption that Sam and Pete are not together, i.e. married. The whole Sg-1 team would get together for a fishing trip that Jack's been talking about since the beginning of the show. This is a celebration of Jack's retirement. Cut to the next scene, we see Jack sitting on the roof, alone, staring through his telescope at the stars; kind of like a full circle thing, that was the opening scene we saw Jack --Children of the Gods --, so why not have the ending the same way...he will be, though, not wondering about where Daniel is, but how Teal'c is, when he returns to Chulak along with all the free Jaffas. But just before we leave the scene we hear a voice, it's Sams. Jack grins. From the choices there...I would think that Ending two is most likely to happen. It would wrap things up somewhat, yet leave a nice opening for the movie to expand on the "jack/sam" relationship. laby01~ |

I agree but ''Thread'' may change the Jack/Sam thing Jack dosent deserve to be alone after all he been through. In fact they all ''the whole team'' deserves to live peacefull and happy lives who knows they may all be on Jack's roof at the end contemplating there adventure. If Jack's roof is big enough. Jack will end up with Sam. From all the info I've been reading I'm pretty definate. I don't really care i dan, or teal'c end up with anyone or how the series ends as long as Jack and Sam end up together. Any other ending would suck!

I hope that Sam will get jealous on Jack's g/f and there will be a cat fight. And when Pete comes to visit Sam at the SGC, he is accidentally shot on sight. Gen. O'Neill must take measures against potential terrorists, right! "Homebase security". |

I think that Jack's new girl friends will notice that he is still in love with Sam. I don't think that there will be a cat fight. Sam will win easy. I think arm wresling will the way to go. |

i think it would be very cool and poetic to have it end with jack looking through the telescope at the stars. And as sad as it would be i think it would be cool if in the last ep he died saving the world, sacrafised himself...then again...he kinda has done that a few times...hmm...kill all of SG1...(nothing new for daniel)....donno, jsut thinking of ways to really end it emotionally.

Totally unexpected: SG-1 is offworld (accompanied by O'Neill for some fluffy reason), and they're trapped on the uninhabited planet. Cut several years into the future: Sam has accepted that she has to cater for three men. And she's having lots of children and they start a colony like in that DS9 episode. The SGC is bombed. Then Prometheus brings a new gate from another planet, and they build a new international stargate site. Or on the moon (under GWB - it would be a secure location, right?). The end. well hell...it had one of the choices as "the stars"...I think that will be his ending true love...as much as I'd love him to be with sam...i don't think the writters like us enough to give us that.

I'm hoping for stars-with-Sam. They can make it a team event, so everyone can be happy. I would like to see Jack holding Sam's hand at least, preferably see him kiss her(I know, wishful thinking...) You could also have Jack and Sam talking on the roof while the rest of the team is there...Jack and Sam would be so absorbed in eachother that the team would have to speak up for anything to happen. Just a few ideas |

I don't think he's married, but his long-term girlfriend/partner is probably just glad that none of it is real-AT & RDA are only acting after all |

Firstly RDA isn't married. Secondly if he was I'm sure he wife could cope with the character he plays not actually snogging anyone very often in the line of work; and thirdly, I'm not getting the relevance here. Can you please elaborate? |
