This was a nice episode, and it certainly picked up towards the end. It did feel a little bit like 'Meridian' at the beginning, with the shots of the city and the two sides of the planet at war, and the way the story was told was also very similar.
But- the tension really built up towards the end and I loved it when they were running through the facility to try and escape the enemies. There was also a good scene where they were hiding below the house while the wife was trying to tell them there was no-one there- there was great tension in it and I have to admit I was holding my breath! An enjoyable episode overall, and a nice return to the usual standard of Stargate. And I learned a new word: Squirly! |

this epiode was good, apart from jack, who is no longer in sg-1, it suxed, because stargate is so good when he is in the team because his jokes seem more funny

Damn it, Daniel, you managed to lose your glasses ... again!
Nevertheless, that didn't seem to affect your aim in the firefight at the end. |

Minor nitpick: There was no DHD in sight. How did SG-1 return to earth?

QUOTE The rand had those Nazi-esque uniforms, which gave the cold war theme a 1940's WW2 touch. That and the Garands they were sporting, heh...funny how they had Ak-47s as well. Yeah and at the end that soren guy who went out and got himself shot, he was toting a russian WW2 PPSH 41 submachinegun. I actually think this ep was pretty good, the only thing that really irks me is that the plot to me seems recycled off of the episode NEW GROUND, now in this case it was their arrival that sparked war and not that they arrived in the middle, and it was a 3rd faction that thought of the gate religiously, but still. My fav quote from this episode is probably when daniel is talking on the radio and he uses goa'uld words as a code and O'Neill doesn't understand at first and says to carter "He's changed", lol. |

I found this episode very ODD. I love Stargate and any Stargate is better than NO Stargate but this was just plain ODD. I also could not put my finger on it. I found it very difficult to see Daniel in street clothes. He didn't seem as Lickable, opps I meant Kissable. How did those miliatary people know Earth hand signals? I am surprised that O'Neill trusted Daniel enough to let him go back to the planet. Knowing how Daniel is with social justice etc.. There would be NO chance in hell that O'Neill would ever believe that Daniel would come back to earth when the $hit hit the fan. I also have to say that Teal'c was especially tastey looking. I don't think he can get any more BUFF than he looked in this episode. Man I love chocolate.
Teal'c gets the bow as the most handsome main character in this episode: |

Saw it again Sat night in sydication.
Not a briliant episode, I agree with some of the nitpicks. However I liked the mid 20 century feel of the episode. MS did look heavier, must have been a sympathy belly LOL(since his wife had just given birth or was about to give birth around the time it was filmed). I guess having a new family, he didn't spend much time in the gym. I did like seening him in civilian clothes. Loved that jacket he was wearing. |
