Season 6 has been released in France in a special collector's case (in addition to the single disc and 2-disc sets that are also available on our French DVD Store.) This has been out for a while, but somehow I missed it:

Sweet box there; looks realy cool. I know we've got some French members out there... any of you have the collectors box set edition? Does it have the same special features and whatnot (question to anyone who has the info)? |

Let me state for the record that I am in no way implying that the US is better than everyone else. But since SG is filmed in Vancouver, shouldn't Canada and the US and yes, even Mexico be getting all the DVDs first! Region 1, Region 2: numerically I thought 1 came first, so is it incorrect logic to assume that Region 1 DVDs should be released before Region 2? One last rant; WTF is up with having different types of CDs and DVDs anyways!

I concur. I am particularly wondering about the boxes and content. Did France get similar "boxed" sets for the previous seasons or was this season 6 circular "box" just for season 6? And this may be off topic, but since other regions seem to be getting the latest seasons first, does anyone have any information on if the "lowdown" will be part of the special features for season 7 boxed sets? Hi! I'm one of the many french SG fans around.
The "gate-like" Season 6 DVD Set has been released in France in Sept. 2003 and I got it for the equivalent of $114 (?62). It includes classic bonuses (Episodes Directors series, audio commentaries, galleries, teasers) and the Lowdown part 1 and 2 on the last disc. A special Season 1 DVD Set has also been released in the same gate format in June 2003 but without any bonus! (got it for $64). I hope I'm not the only froggy on this forum Bye. |

I doubt your the only "froggy" on the forum. Welcome to the Stargate SG-1 Information Archive. If you don't know already Arcady is the leader around here! Please adhere to the RULES which you can find in each of the different forums.
The Season 1 and 2 Box Sets of Stargate for the UK are also lacking any Special features! Suppose no documentaries or anything were made in that time! Enjoy yourself while here! Raz |

Okay, so that just looks too cool
I have to ask.. any of you folk who already have this - are the extras in english still? Or dubbed in french... or english with french subs., etc? If it's pretty much identical to what will eventually be the UK release, but in a much cooler box.. I don't have to wait and can get my season6 fix all the quicker! Thanks, Lens |

Hey! Welcome to the SG1 Information Archive Forum! And, thanks for the great info. Don't worry, you're not the only "froggy" on the forum. Bonus Features and Extras in all season box sets seem to be lacking, but also looks like it's improving with each season. Can't wait for 5, 6, 7, and 8... Thanks again odie_63. |

Lensman asked about the language used in extras :
They're all in english. It would be quite ridiculous to have Amanda Tapping, Chris Judge, Peter DeLuise or anyone else from the crew dubbed in french (even if it's my native language Episodes have soundtracks in english, french and italian. |

You say that, but.....
I lived in Spain for a while, and came across quite a few videos/dvds where extra interviews had either been dubbed (badly - so you could still just here the original underneath), or else had enforced subtitles! Thanks for the answer though, means I don't have to wait! Lens |
