This is cool, I do not have a lot of email addresses so it works out for me. I must be careful though my other email gets loads of spam everyday I only keep the account because I love the name and have had it for years.

I like this, as long as it doesn't make the site go down or anything.

Don't get too much spam in my 'proper' email, cos I've got a couple of underscores in my address, only ones to get through are for loans
Actually, spam is sometimes all Iget - talk to friends on phone/in person so no real need for email!! My address is - durhamlass@sg1archive.net |

I take that you took the advice and did try again later (maybe a few times)? Well, that error message looks pretty generic and unspecific - it really could be caused by anything. If you want to get it sorted out, you might be better sending Arcady a PM rather than posting here as I have no idea how regularly he checks this thread. |

Yeah. I tried various times and still no luck. I've contacted Arcady. And thanks. The message is still the same with no real specifics. |

That looks like a virus to me...
Would I ever write a message from "The Sg1archive.net team"... I don't think so. |

I just received one of those emails as well. I wasn't too sure if it was real or not, so I forwarded it to my Yahoo account, and scanned the download. Needless to say it has been deleted and the computer is being scanned as we speak.

I was amazed to see all the amounts of spam-emails being delivered to the sg1archive account though. Wich i thought wierd, even in the beginning when i (hardly) ever used i recieved some emails from nigerians claiming to be the sons of kings in excile wich i should loan money to... That has stopped but now i suposedly get other emails from 'members'... Oh well, at least weve got 6mb storage space This post has been edited by Kaileron: Mar 3rd 2004, 4:13 PM |

Today i recieved this e-mail on my sg1archive account:
Has anyone recieved any kind of spam from my account? I dont see how this can be true as i havent ever sent an e-mail from my sg1archive account. It came with an attachment, but i havent opened it. Whats it about? Is it just spam? Is it a virus? Or is there actually a problem? I've also been recieving countless e-mails like this:
and..
and..
and..
I'd go on but theres just too many of them to post. The above quotes were the entire content of the e-mails and they all come with attachments (none of which i have opened). Virus? Or just a bunch of plain and simple spam? |

They are all viruses, don't download the attachments. I have been sent several over the past week, and my account has also sent some out which were all returned. I have also received some from other members, but it is all automated virus mail.

Same here. I have been getting nothing but spam mail, which has got to be viruses. They all had download attachments. I now just delete all mail that I don't know who sent it. I also got mail saying that I had sent mail, when I haven't. I also got a mail today from "The SG1Archive.net Team" It was a bit different then the ones that were posted above, but for the most part it was the same. |

Well i havent got any from you... yet.... Altough i dont know if spam was send by my account i did recieve from other members like Lya, spam. (i know SHE didnt but i got it nevertheless) And since i knew Lya was a member i did open the attachment and dloaded it. Nevertheless, it was unable to open so no harm done... (i think). I think we all should be more carefull with any emails we recieve even from people we know. And still nothing is 100% safe. |

Indeed it was not me. I really hope your computer is ok Kaileron. I have run like three scans in the past week, becasue of these da*n emails. Like you said we just need to be careful about what emails we open. I have gotten nothing but spam and viruses in my Lya account today. |
