I never read any of the episode descriptions for Season Six, I just slapped in the disk and started watching. I'm honestly not sure why but I had fun with the season overall simply because I already knew Shanks was coming back.

If you go into this episode blind without knowing a darned thing that is going to happen it is a cross between hilarious and baffling as all hell.

I laughed so hard at some parts that I was honestly snorting (in a delicate way..ummm...yeah) particularly when Coombes hurled because evidently I'm 12. Sorry but I just didn't see that coming.

So, I really liked this episode on the "Pure escapism" front and thought it was a great laugh. Jonas was so toned down that I thought that checking him for a pulse might be appropriate.

Then it ended and I laughed all the harder because it made sense as a pure fantasy that Felger made up. I mean, come on....the holding cell can be accessed by removing a panel? That's hilariously goofy.

Then I found out "Oh no, it was supposed to be real except for that one part at the end."

Then I was so shocked by how the premise was ...let's be kind and say "severely developmentally disabled". Funnier than hell as Felger's fantasy. Frightening as "Oh my GOD we're supposed to buy that as part of canon?? NO. Just...no."

Oh one of the funniest episodes of all time, it's wonderful to have a show that doesn't take itself too seriously and makes 'muck up' eps. that work! I loved it, from O'Neill and Teal'c's little chat about hockey to Coombes dressed as a jaffa but still have his glasses. Too bad they killed of Khonsu he was cute.
"Look everybody, he's got Coombes with him" That line was in my head for weeks!
and Felgers superheroesque (ok I made up a new word) delivery of "We're here to rescue you" was great.
I think the writer did give some liberty with the script with SG1 having the ability to take down all those jaffa unscathed and the fact that the 'window' to their cell could just be pulled away (jaffa craftsmanship ain't what it used to be rolleyes.gif ) but that's all part of the fun!

This was one of the best episodes of season 6 it was so funny that i was cring with laughther when i saw it.

Although this episode was suppose to be about Sg-1 getting to meet a Tok'ra operative we had those other guys who were so funny especialy when they were trying to free Sg-1 and found out that they had got themselves caught on purpose]

QUOTE(Anubus @ Dec 23rd 2002, 1:11 AM)
One of the best episodes for a long time and  funny they added the reference to the Alter of Roddenberry, like one of the early shows where Carter siad they had to McGiver a system. It sure beats the previous lame episode of Shadow Play lets face it Jonas is a bore and so are his people. <!#emo&;)#>user posted image<!#endemo#>

I think that the character of Jonas is quite interesting. An extremely gifted person from a planet whose technology is about at the level of Earth WWII era. It was a pretty cool idea.

There is nothing wrong with Jonas! His planet rocks and so does he... that may be because i am biased!!! whistling.gif

The other guys is an amazingly funny episode, i find myself watching it after a really bad day and the fact the Coomes (John Billingsly) is in it makes it so much more better... I have met the guy and he is a legend!

Corin why did they cut that off? Are you not allowed to say "Bastard"?
What about F**k, bitch, slut....etc? Are there NO swear words on your telly?

it's probably because they are using prepositions at the end of a sentence all the time laugh.gif
at least a professor here at the university does and she's from britain laugh.gif

btw: i like your avatar corin rolleyes.gif

The problem is that Stargate airs around 4pm on a Sunday afternoon on Channel 4. Suppose the censors are a bit shakey about swearing early in the afternoon. There is swearing on British tv, quite a lot really, but harsher swearing doesnt normally get shown until after 9pm/10pm.

Khonsu looks very much like Robbie Williams. I thought it was him at first.

Loved this episode especially the nerd and the geek. 1.gif I really enjoyed see J. Billingsley in this episode since he's the only character I can stand on Enterprise.

A fun episode all around. I'm glad the nerds get to save the day. O'Neill, funny as always.

I thought This episode was funny but annoying in ways to. I thought it was funny when oneill said "look hes got koons with him" That was pretty good. but at the same time I dont think it contributed much to the overal story.

I just saw this episode again tonight. And it SUCKED!! The whole thing was fake from the beginning.(And I don't mean it was a daydream) And what was with the Jaffa all battling with zats? huh.gif In every battle scene I've seen, most of the Jaffa are using staff weapons not zats.
It was a good plot and all, except the daydreaming part, but the execution, not so good.
