I just saw this eppy again in syndication. I have to say that I do like it. I like that we find out something about the Anscients. I do believe that she was one, and in Atlantis, Season 1,
Click for Spoiler I think that Season 9 could be interesting simply because we have been told to expect to learn more about the Anscients. |

I dont think Jack wanted the snake in his head even with the info Sam gave him. I agree with an earlier post that he trusted Sam in what she thought he should do, and i like how Sam was the one who wanted to make sure it was ok with Jack, even though she probably would do anything just to keep him alive. Definetly ended almost like a cliffhanger, whats going to happen to Jack?

Maybe because the technology for stasis isn't perfect. And it doesn't stop you from ageing it just slows it down a lot. But as this was the ice in antarctica it froze her preventing any ageing whatsoever. But the ancients natural healing ability was enough to revive her once she was taken out of the ice and revived. That's my guess although we all know if we think about it it's a plot flaw.

When you think about it we have never actually seen an Ancient use the stasis technology that was in the Outpost and on Atlantis. All we have seen are normal Humans use it and Jack, who has the Ancient gene (but wasnt in one for very long). Atlantis season 2, 'Aurora' spoilers: » Click for Spoiler « |

This was definitely a different episode. I like the idea of revisiting certain things in Stargates past like the uncovering of the second Stargate in Antarctica. Now, there is a science base posted where it was found. Very cool. This episode however takes a turn for the worst when the team gets infected with an 'Ancient' virus, that happens after a body is recovered from the ice. This person seems to have an unreal amount of healing ability, as they manage to wake up from being frozen for millions of years. Overall, this is an excellent episode. It is different from other previous episodes, but it's a nice change.
