I can watch Urgo over and over again. This episode was a complete blast to watch. It was too funny. I love in the hallway when Sam is talking to Urgo and Hammond and Frasier bump into them. And after Sam leaves Hammond and Fraiser say......

Are we entirely sure that the members of SG-1 are... what's the word? [Hammond]
Sane? [Fraiser]
That's the one. [Hammond]

This episode was amusing. I have to tell u my fav line. <!#emo&<_<#>user posted image<!#endemo#>

Teal'c takes the jug of coffee and starts to drink it and Jack says to him.
"Isn't that hot?"
and Teal'c reply is.
"Extremely"

I thought it was so funny. And Probably the only person who does. <!#emo&:-"#>user posted image<!#endemo#> . If you think its funny please tell me. <!#emo&;)#>user posted image<!#endemo#>

i think that is the first time that teal.c has had coffee before. I also like the part where Jack was eating a peace of pumkin pie and then the others join him eating the food that was on the table.

There were some really funny parts in Urgo.
Teal'c's coffee was quite amazing. He has an extremely subtle sense of humour. Or perhaps he wasn't even trying to be funny... that's what's so funny.
I thot Urgo singing me, me ,me, me, mememmemmeememeeeeeeeeeee was both annoying and hilarious.
I can see why SG1 was desparate to get rid of him.

I still watch this one over and over. I've researched Dom Deluise's old standup routines on eBay. He's got great comic timing. MemeMEmemememEEEEmememeMEEE...

how about when Sam's in the hallway talking to Urgo..>Gen Hammond says "I see" and Sam says so tiredly "OH, I wish you did..."

I absolutely love this episode. It's one of my favorites from season 3. Dom Deluise was perfectly cast as Urgo and the scene when he changes into Peter was hilarious. Of course, people haven't mentioned how funny Peter looked as he pretended to be Urgo with that goofy "yeah, check me out now" look on his face. The humor kept me in stitches all the way through. I honestly don't know which was funnier, watching SG-1s reactions to Urgo or watching the restrained shock and disbelief on the faces of Hammond and Fraiser.

My personal favorite quote:

Urgo to O'Neill,"Oh, he's confused. By the way, who is Mary Steenburgen?"

I tell you, talent does seem to run in the Deluise family. And boy, that was an awful lot of cake and pie on that table.

I think stargate has a habbit of turning into a DeLuise family reunion at times. I also agree that Dom DeLuise was perfect for the part of urgo. He has this amazing quality about him which makes him...differant.

This episode, along with Forever In A Day are the reasons I ordered the DVD boxed set. Otherwise I would wear out my tape copy. biggrin.gif

laugh.gif Brilliant! This was just such good fun to watch. I wont go over all the fun bits as the rest of you guys seem to have them covered, but I do think it's nice to have a light-hearted episode bevery so often while at the same time keeping a point to it (i.e. at the end when they decide Urgo is alive). Window of Opportunity is the same in season 4 - fun all the way but with a serious moment at the end.

Another good season 3 episode, very lighthearted.

No guns no battles, just humor.
...I don't think anyone else could have pulled the character of Urgo off half as well as Dom Deluise did.

I think Dom is hillarious, so this episode was a fun one to watch.

"I want to experience the Universe and eat pie"
"Who doesn't?!"
HAH

Heres a little nitpick though, the last time they go to see Targo they come back and Hammond says they were gone 10 hours. From what we see it is more like an hour or 2 at best. What did they do for the extra 8 hours?

Booboolah! *pop* Remembah? biggrin.gif

Hello, newbie checking in here -

I adore this episode because I found Urgo to be both incredibly irritating and endearing at the same time. Sort of like the members of SG-1 did!

Dom DeLuise is a wonderful comedic actor and his delivery was hilarious. Sure, he's Peter's dad but that doesn't alter the fact that he was perfectly cast. They needed a full grown man that could bring the wonderment of a child to the role.

The table groaning under all the desserts was hilarious. The row-row-row your boat round will live in SG-1 comedy infamy. I never stopped laughing.

Plus the entire cast played off of DeLuise so well. They brought the perfect mix of "Get out of my head!" and "Wow, you are just an enthusiastic kid in a rotund little body and I can't help liking you." to the mix. Great reaction shots from all!

I watched this with my husband tonight. I had seen it previously but he never had and what was really cute was that he shouted out "Oh! Play them all singing again!"

It was really a delightful DeLuise episode to my mind smile.gif Plus, on a personal note, see my husband laughing so much was so cute!

Sort of like Urgo. The little boy always lurking deep within the hearts of men smile.gif

This is also one of my fav. eps. I love Urgo to pieces not that I'd want him 'round 24/7. When Urgo made Carter spill her hot drink, was that tea? 'cause I think I saw a teabag hanging out of the mug? Also, what kind of pie was that? I loved the different translations of the word 'goodbye', Teal'c drinking the coffee Me me me me me me me, Row row row your boat! biggrin.gif "If you call THAT singing" LoL! Did anyone notice that Dom and Peter have the same/similar facial expressions, movement e.t.c.
O'Neill has a thing for Mary Steenburgen? and Carter has an uncle Irving...

"Come on, I know you like me"
"No Urgo, we don't like you!"
"Not even just a smidgen?"
"No smidgen"

Great lighthearted ep. but I never did understand why they expirienced time loss the second time as they were fully conscious?

They always seem to put in a comedic episode every season and they make it have a good idea in it too.

Gotta like how RDA acts when he gets transported at the end.
"I hate when that happens"

Also another line I like from this is:
"Is there a way we can turn Urgo off?"

This episode was extrememly funny.

I agree, very funny. What did you think about these lines:

Urgo: You are so smart, Samantha. I love that about you.
Jack O'Neill: Carter?
Sam Carter: The technology implanted in our brains, sir. We're looking at some kind of visual communication interface controlled hallucination.
Jack O'Neill: So... I... what?
Urgo: He gets confused. By the way: who is Mary Steenburgen?

Brilliant episode. The scene where they are in the infirmary and he's asking about the defibrillator was classic. It was obvious the soldier in the background was finding it difficult to keep a straight face and not look at Dom. The bit where Sam says the EM pulse will render him impotent was great. My favourite part was when Urgo was singing 'Me, me, me, me...' in briefing room and Hammond and Fraiser were just looking at SG1.

I say bring Urog back.

I just saw this again. This is one of the classic comedic SGs. I loved this show. I love it when they poke fun at themselves.

Urgo trying to win them over, "what about this?" and he turns into Peter Deluise in an Air Force uniform. Did you catch Sam's/Amanda's look at that? She had a "get real" expression on her face. smile.gif

Then when Sam is walking in the hallway and arguing with Urgo, and runs into Hammond and Frasier, she says to Urgo, "that was rude." A comment about Janet was made, have to wonder what it was.

It's when you start watching these old episodes that you realize how truly good this show was (and could be again).
My sister, who is in no way a sci-fi fan, caught the last half of this one last night and when she came over for dinner tonite, she was talking about it. So I had to put the dvd in and let her watch the first half and of course, we had to watch the whole thing. And she agreed it was very funny. Her favorite part was Teal'c drinking the coffee straight out of the carafe, piping hot. Woof!!!

Your sister sounds great, Wonderland! biggrin.gif This is really one of my favorite episodes because I remember watching Dom Deluise as a kid. It's so good to see him back in action and allowed to really cut loose with his incredible comedic timing and talent.

After the scene when Urgo transforms himself into a younger, suave self (courtesy of son Peter), she asked who he was. So I popped in the Season Seven DVD extra for "Death Knell", and we both had a good laugh over the scene with PDL, Michael and Christopher that involved poo cramps, logs and Bill Cosby.
If you haven't see that one, it's freakin' hilarious; by the time it's over, Michael is nearly out of his chair, laughing.
