I love this ep.! My favorite part is when Teal'c just started to down that coffee and made the face at the end. I was like damn! doesn't that hurt? Of course, he answered my question.

stargate is a brilliant show and it isnt only in the sci-fi category its also in the comedy catergory.

what a show biggrin.gif

But SG-1 offers something that most comedy shows don't:

NO LAUGH TRACK!!

I really like that SG1 has humor, but doesn't put in audiences laughing telling you there's a joke. Mostly sitcoms fall victim to it, but it's still refreshing to see humor and no fakeness to it by the producers.

"Urgo" is my second fave ep next to "window of opportunity". I honestly laughed all the way through this ep. It just goes to show that sci-fi shows dont always have to be about the sci-fi to make a great ep.

P.S. Eol, i hate the laugh tracks too, even when nothing funnys going on you hear these roars of laughter mad.gif

I loved Urgo, I saw it just last night and it had me laughing all the way though. i relly liked the part at the end where the team doesn't think Urgo is really there, but all of a sudden that guy gets really pissed and he almost screams at thin air. They just leave.....

Hehe this has alot of great comical moments in it. Few good moments:

*Urgo laughs and points at Oneill*
Urgo: "He....gets confused!"

Teal'c: "That was not his intention"
*Urgo gives Teal'c the thumbs up*

Teal'c: Parasite, like the goauld
Urgo: parasite, like goaullllld (in a mocking Teal'c voice)

Urgo: As handsome....as he is evil.

Urgo: Kree, give him a double jaffa thing!

Urgo: I wanna to live, i wanna experience the universe...and i wanna eat pie"

Heh so im watching the episode atm, its a quality ep biggrin.gif Definitly one of the best humourous ones from 3

Is it true that the bloke who played Urgo in this episode is Peter De'louise's dad.
Really funny episode.

Urgo:''try the paddles''
Teal'c stands up and goes to electrocute himself.

Great stuff.

I agree. This seems to have been one of those episodes where they didn't want to continue any existing storylines, but they couldn't come up with any great ideas for new ones either.

Yes, Urgo is up there with the favorites...

(just a taste...)The intro...

CARTER: Probe indicates a sustainable atmosphere. Temperature's 78 degrees farenheit, barometric pressures normal.
DANIEL: No obvious signs of civilisation.
CARTER: P4X 884 looks like an untouched paradise, sir.
TEAL'C: Appearances may be deceiving.
O'NEILL: One man's ceiling is another man's floor.
DANIEL: A fool's paradise is a wise man's hell.
O'NEILL: Never run with scissors?

I loved this episode! It was on TV three times in a row (dunno why) and I even got my little brother to watch it! He loved the bit where they all sind Row row ur boat.

I also loved "try the paddles" and the "it was not his intention" bits.

I think this episode has so much of what makes Stargate so funny. A lot of subtle humor, like team dialogue, also with some stuff thats just hillarious.

Haha I'm still laughing!

I'm in a minority here when I say that I think Urgo is just the most annoying character ever.
The acting was at it's usual high standard and parts of it were just hilarious, as mentioned Teal'c and the coffee and Jack stating that no dessert on the base was safe.
I like the story just not the character of Urgo. I'd have gone mad if it was me!

QUOTE (ussshorty @ Jan 12 2003, 05:53 AM)
ok this was one of the best episodes from season 3 it was so funny and don deluise the guy that plays urgo is the father of? stargate director peter deluise.

Yeah, I came into this thread to point that one out...the DeLuise family...Nepotism, anyone <wink>
No seriously, I don't think anyone else could have made Urgo so lovably hated
And OMG...Teal'C singing "Row Row Row Your Boat"....tee hee hee
I love it when the show uses music as a little inside joke...like when Carter was whistling in the elevator and it was the SG theme...can't remember the eppy title right now.
Anyhooo...Urgo was a spectacular eppy...there were so many different little funnies, like when Carter said "Urgo, that's not nice!" and Doc Fraiser, who at this point didn't really believe that Urgo exsisted, exclaimed back: "What did he say???!"
These writers are a truly gifted pack!
QUOTE (Apis @ Jul 3 2003, 08:52 PM)
Didn't anyone find that Urgo behaved (and even looked) a lot like Harlin the robot?? The only difference in my mind is the fact that I think that Harlin was cool and Urgo was a pain in the butt.? Harlin, at least, had a few funny phrases that he used.

Kumtraya...
I thought so too at first glance...but of course now, having watched those eppys times over, I can't imagine why I ever thought so rolleyes.gif
QUOTE (Eol @ Jul 7 2003, 11:17 PM)
NO LAUGH TRACK!!

I agree!! I love it that I sometimes have to watch an eppy two/three/six hundred (Window Of Opportunity) times to catch every little thing!! It's better that we "get" the little "inside jokes" rather than rely on a laugh track to remind us that we are not intelligent enough to "get it" on our own.
Of course...Maybe the SG writers know that we're all a bunch of GEEKS and they don't need to help us!

PS have any of you found yourselves looking for the GIANT WRENCH in the background of all the episodes???? I *so* have!! online2long.gif
Yeah, yeah, I'm a loser

All in all, I so HEART the writers for giving us eppys like this...and Windows...
