I think they should flirt more but it cant go any further (as much as i would like them to). It would spoil the show at this point to have them become more serious, but as i am a bit of a shipper, i'd want them to finally get together in like the last ever episode or something

I just don't know anymore. I definately want to see them flirt...I haven't seen it in so long that I don't know if I want them together anymore. But flirting is fun. I think if they don't end up together, they should both end up with someone.

I don't think... wouldn't they have to wait until they're equal ranks or something, if ever? There was some episode I saw on SciFi recently in which Carter went from Captain to Major, I remember thinking, "What'll happen if she becomes a Colonel?" What's the rule about that? That was basically the statement that they were making with the alternate universe marriage thing wasn't it? They'd be together if it wasn't for the rules?
By the way, I'm a big newb, what's a shipper? |

A shipper is someone thats all for certain characters on shows to get together. E.g. Mulder and Scully, Jack and Sam  |

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... I am an anti-shipper and I don't think Sam and Jack should get together.
At the moment, Sam is 'one of the guys' in the team. They work together as a group, and the fact that Sam is a girl doesn't matter too much... as Teal'c says, she is a formidable warrior. However, if she and Jack were to get together, things would change. Jack would start to become protective of her, and would probably try to stop her doing the sort of rough-housing she does now (it's not his fault... he's just a nice guy, and he wouldn't want her to get hurt. atm she's just under his command, and so it wouldn't be that big a deal... commanders have to send their troups into battle all the time, when it's your girlfriend, it's different... it has to be). When the others saw them together (not in a kinky way... 'cause- ick) they'd start seeing Sam as "the girl." It would change the entire group dynamic, and not for the better, either. For this reason, Jack and Sam should stay just friends. Besides, when things remain unresolved, you can leave everything to your own imagination and that's always fun. Annise, I agree with you for the most part, although I disagree when you say that at the moment it's no big deal if she gets hurt cause she's only under his command - well surely his feelings wouldn't have changed much even if they get together... he clearly has feelings for her now, so her dieing or something whilst under his command would be a big deal! The difference is that he doesn't have much choice in the matter of protecting her because of their dangerous missions etc..
I think they should continue the flirting/sexual tension, but they shouldn't get together. |

I said it wouldn't be as much of a big deal... it still is a big deal having to send someone in a battle, but it'd be different if she was his girlfriend to if she's his subordinate. As the leader of SG-1, it's Jack's job to make sure they all come home safe, and to make sure that in battle situations, he's keeping everyone as safe as possible... but the nature of being a soldier is danger, and fighting. If Sam was his girlfriend, it would be entirely different... the nature of going out with someone is different to being under their command.

See now I think they should just flirt, but maybe not much more. Due to I don't want to the focus to end going that route. I have seen too many shows where it starts out great they start getting into love lives of the charactres and the show never leaves the subject I end up loisng interest. Maybe when the show finally has the final season ending maybe get into the subject. I like how so far they play with the idea. Leaves it open for any possibility and that is good.  |

I don't need to see them married or even officially in a "relationship." But I think it could be cool if they were stranded somewhere, thought they weren't going to get home, and something happened. Then they go home and have to pretend that it didn't happen.

I like the level of flirting we have between them both at the moment. If it was to increase then it may start to interfere with the storylines and the whole show would become the Jack and Sam show. The way it is just now is just natural, but if on the very last episode Jack was to walk up to Sam, put his arm around her and say something corny like "your place or mine" then I think that would be a good end to the whole will they or won't they plotline.

I think they should get it on!! Obviously they wouldn't let it get in the way of their jobs because they are mature adults!!
I think it would make things more interesting when one of them is hurt/captured or whatever, you can tell they both care for each other but it would definitely spice things up!! |

i think it will add realistic depth to the show because out of personal experiance whilst working in close quarters with people two right people often grow romantic feelings and act on it!
i think it would give a good new dimention to the show if they get a little more serius- i mean he got down a nd dirty with laira- its not fair on sam to leave her out! |
