Has it ever been addressed as to why the Ancients decided to not follow up with the Destiny? Dr. Rush has made it a big point to say this is the most important thing ever but obviously the Ancients didn't agree and abandoned this project.

i assumed it was because destiny itself may have been designed pre ancient racial split, and may have been the reason for the split in the first place due to it's signifigance of universal origin. the discovery of the GOD signal, may have what lead to the ultimate schism of the ancients and after they split apart, they had their civil war, where eventually both became the ORI and Alterran's respectively, by that point learning of ascension and no longer needing destiny itself.

Except in Air, they stated Destiny started in the Milky Way galaxy. That would be after the Alterran's fled the Ori to get here. |
