Season 1, Episode 6 - Water
Air Date: (US) October 30, 2009 Severe rationing can't save the Destiny's dwindling water supply, forcing Colonel Young and Lieutenant Scott to seek out drinkable water on a deadly ice planet. (This topic is for people who have seen the episode to discuss it. If you don't want to be spoiled, don't read this topic.) |

I'm surprised no one has posted anything here yet! I watched the episode and liked it even though it had it's own predictable times like all the others.

While I liked this episode slightly better then the rest, I'm still not sold on this series.

I was rather unimpressed by this episode, and found myself fast-forwarding somewhat frequently... *shrug*
It was a good episode, but I don't think I was in the right frame of mind I liked the return of the swirly psychic creature. Yay! Interesting love quadrangle... always fun. I feel kinda bad for the lieutenant, not so much for Armstrong. Ummm what else? The Colonel... "a lot of work..." I love that. Rush is just such a terribly unpleasant person. He treats everybody like crap. Math boy to the rescue again. Oh, and the Sergeant... "I invent things too!" |

"I invent things too!" ITA about your assessment of Rush. I said before they are making him be arrogant like McKay, but he has nothing about him to humanize him. |

Not a bad episode. I thought Eli's hover cart idea was quite good. I didn't see that coming. I reckon that's the good thing about him. He comes up with ideas that are generally outside the box.
Anyone else notice that those space suits looked awfully familiar? |

Usual blah episode I'm beginning to expect from this series. Like most shows that ignore logic, why would the two senior members leave their people behind to go on a dangerous mission? Young's in charge, he's supposed to stay behind and run things.
Anyone else notice that those space suits looked awfully familiar? I didn't think so until you just said something. The Asgard suits maybe? [EDIT]Bah, Revan beat me to it.[/EDIT] I liked how Eli invented his own hoverboard, Marty McFly would be proud Also, maybe we could've had a Wampa or two? Young's in charge, he's supposed to stay behind and run things. I was thinking the same thing however Young seems to have a large amount of experience working in that type of terrain which proved to be very useful. Perhaps Lt Scott should have stayed behind rather than Young? |

Anyone else notice that those space suits looked awfully familiar? Maybe those rogue Asgard stole the Alteran design? I had not until you pointed it out. Like I said, I'm watching it live and because it is so boring, it is not holding my attention, and I'm sure that I'm missing things, which may be important, but I doubt it. I liked how Eli invented his own hoverboard, Marty McFly would be proud Also, maybe we could've had a Wampa or two? I did like his mention of the Empire Strikes Back, and that he refuses to call it episode 5. His geekiness does come through quite a lot. |

I thought it was somewhat ok, except it really felt like a previous episode, but only with snow instead of a desert...

I thought it was somewhat ok, except it really felt like a previous episode, but only with snow instead of a desert... That is kind of what quite a few of us have been saying. It is repetitive. They are in jeopardy to find the things they need to survive, power, water, food. It gets old real fast. |

I was rather unimpressed by this episode, and found myself fast-forwarding somewhat frequently... *shrug* It was a good episode, but I don't think I was in the right frame of mind I actually found myself approaching this as a chore. I sped through it and when it was over, I went on to watching something I wanted to see. Usual blah episode I'm beginning to expect from this series. Like most shows that ignore logic, why would the two senior members leave their people behind to go on a dangerous mission? Young's in charge, he's supposed to stay behind and run things. He doesn't have people qualified enough to go on that type of mission. Last time he tried, some people almost died, some didn't come back. When people work for you, you have to know when you can or cannot deligate work. If you need it done right, you might have to do it yourself. I did like his mention of the Empire Strikes Back, and that he refuses to call it episode 5. His geekiness does come through quite a lot. I thought that was pretty funny. I thought it was somewhat ok, except it really felt like a previous episode, but only with snow instead of a desert... Yeah, all of the episodes have pretty much been the same so far. I did like that they took the time to show the intelligence of that alien by having them recognize Scott. Wow, thats three things I liked. |

This episode was ok but it reminded and seemed to be a bit of a re-hash of atlantis "3" episode Hide and seek. Anyone think otherwise?
And yea, i thought those space suits looked familiar myself. |

My turn to be lazy by cutting and pasting my posting from our other site, but...
I just realized something. Since I didn't get to watch this episode when it aired, I had to watch it on Charter's On Demand. I missed a chunk of this episode! At no time did they explain how they were going to get the water, how they would transport it from the planet, nothing. As a matter of fact, they never even mentioned the "Hoth System" reference! Now I'm pissed off! I just rewatched it again, and in the "On Demand" recorded version, it's just plain missing! GRRRR! |

I actually fell asleep during this episode, the first time I have ever done so while watching Stargate plus I really didnt want to rewatch it. Everything is happening too slow and the characters aren't likable.
