There are too many to really count.
Star Wars: Tie Fighter was a solid fighter game that is probably closing in on 10 years old now. Knights of the Old Republic (I and II) are giant RPGs. Turn-based combat, basically taking a d20 system and putting it in a game. I highly recommend them. Can't think of any more of the top of my head, I'm sure if you went to wikipedia and looked up Star Wars there would be a list a mile long. |

But unlike most RPGs, it wasn't really slanted towards doing the good stuff. Most RPG games seem to penalize doing evil things and reward doing good things. But KOTOR had totally nailed it. |

I've been playing a lot of Empire at War: Forces of Corruption. FoC is an expansion for EaW. They're space and land based RTS games, and there's tons of mods for new units and maps.
Also the first couple Jedi knight games, the ones with Kyle Katarn. KOTOR was good, 2 was... not so good. Force commander (another RTS) not so good... Galactic battlegrounds, old school RTS, ground based only, but I had a lot of fun with that. X-Wing, and TIE fighter are likely more than 10-12 years old. I was a young kid playing those eons ago... I've been thinking of looking around for some old SW games to play again. |

Ah yes, empire at war. While I reeeeally loved the space battles in that game (and I mean LOVED. They really captured the whole epic space battle thing going on there), I felt their ground-based combats to be lacking. Things seemed to be just too slow on the ground, and it made it hard (at least for me) to do much of anything.
As for Tie Fighter, I too remember playing it as a kid. But I don't remember HOW long ago that was. the 10 years was an approximation, since it puts me at around 10 years old which seems to be a good age to have started to really get into gaming. |

I only got my first pc around 6 years ago and i'm 25 so I didn't get much of a chance on star wars games before that before that it was a case of whatever my sega mega drive or snes or playstation had to offer. although now that i have my pc I downloaded(legally) a load of old mega drive and snes games including super star wars. |

I really think they should make the next KOTOR game along the same lines as Force Unleashed, a game which I look forward to.
I really liked SW: Battlefront 2 |

I'm throwing in Lego Star Wars, it is absolutely sublime. Soo fun and very funny, you just have such a good time playing it.
Maybe not for those that want the intence Star Wars experience, but if you're out for fun you can't go much better then this. This post has been edited by Invisible Painting: Nov 27th 2007, 8:30 AM |

heh, playing lego starwars right now on the 360, class games.
I really enjoyed battlefront 1, played it for a long time - played 2 for about a week and thought it was terrible. Ideally id like to see a supreme commander starwars mod |

Lego Star Wars for the win!
I too find the ground EaW battles to be not as good. I have some fun playing them, but not as much as the space battles. I just found an awesome mod for FoC, it ups the pop cap to 50 for each team, which makes the battles so much cooler. 6 Star Destroyers and escorts. New units like the Katana Dreadnaught (actually three different types of dreadnaughts including carriers with tons of starfighters) the mods gives frigates hanger bays, so even they can dispense fighters. It makes for a way more intense game, and I've been hooked on it for the past week. If I'm not at work, I'm on the computer blasting away at the rebellion. There's new maps too, and GC campaigns with 63 planets. It's been 3 days and I'm still only half way across the galaxy, but with the new pop caps I can maintain 6-7 defense fleets to hold the line at the front, and 1 or 2 larger fleets for taking planets, plus a decent sized army I only need to reinforce after taking a handfull of planets. Edit: It's called "Ultimate Empire at War Version 4" or something to that effect, just in case you were thinking of looking for it. This post has been edited by Joda: Nov 28th 2007, 8:29 PM |
