5 star has a name you know And your promotion thing is only a way it can happen, but that isn't the way it does usually, or generally. I imagine that could be a general frame. It would be related to experience gained and accomplishments. |

Okay, since we're not talking about reality, I think Carter should single-handily save the world in 44 minutes or less and get promoted to 4 star general so she can order Jack into her 4 star bed. After all, how could he refuse a direct order from a superior officer? I'll get my coat. Oh my yes |

I believe this is happening because, » Click to Show Spoiler « my idea is so that Sam outranks Sheppard so that she is THE HEAD of the expidition and that way JS is less likely to argue PS. I know this has been posted 3 years after SGA S4S but its an idea... right? |

At the beginning of season 9 though Landry and Mitchell are having a conversation in his office and Landry says Mitchell didnt come to join SG-1, he came to lead SG-1.
Interestingly enough, Browder was the original choice to play the role of John Sheppard but couldnt as he was filming Farscape and so was given Mitchell's character instead. |

That would be an interesting change to John... I probably would have liked it. He could have lead SG1 except he picked 3 of the original 4 people. |

It was a totally different and new character. Instead they cast him on SG1 and brought in CB with him. They forgot that AT, MS and CJ were still there and had a long and loyal fan base. Not to mention RDA being remembered. Sadly, for me and I have said this numerous times, BB was not a correct fit for SG1. |
