Were not talking super cars here, only cars that are actually within your budget. So if you were going out to buy a car tomorrow, which car making nation would you buy from, and what qualities would you look for the most when making this decision.
Let us know what model you would go for and why? |

I'd simply buy a car from the UK, as I'm here I wouldn't want to travel to Germany to get one

With the price of gas, I would need something that can give me good gas mileage and be reliable.

Mine will be a US made car. I'm shopping for a Corvette. Interesting choice, given gas prices. I drove in and out of the city, and it cost $40 in gas... for about 1.5 hours of driving. Course that's a 320hp 4.6L V8... so... yeah. Anybody know what I should look for if I want a balance of hp/gas mileage in a nice standard transmission. I don't want to pay out the ass for fuel, but I want to be able to drive fast with the top down. |

Ironically the Corvette provides the best gas mileage among sports cars. It has been documented to make 28-30 mpg on the highway. Credit this to the engine's displacement on demand technology, six speed transmission and it's light, aerodynamic fiberglass body. All that and 400 horsepower for the 05-07 models, the 08 is now making 438. The Z06 is "rated" at 505 horsepower but that is underrated, it is actually making 540 hp.
It will be a weekend car much like my Mustang is now. I'm driving a Mercury Sable for daily use and it's V6 engine is making 28 mpg highway and 20 mpg in the city. |

I was driving into Pittsburgh the other day, and there was a... probably 2005 Vette keeping up with me the whole time. Medium traffic didn't really stop us breaking 100mph at one point LoL. I felt kinda mischievous after that. The old dude definitely didn't have any trouble keeping up with me. Ahhh fun times. |

It's great to have a sports car. Little ones. Black mud guards with silver mustangs, a cobra in the front grille rather than a mustang, and silver raised lettering on the tail, where it says "COBRA." My parents are looking at getting an Escape Hybrid, and I still have to get moving on my search. |
