I never said that his memories would contain all of the knowledge, Danny said hes memories were more specific but whos to say that the memories didn't contain a way for Merlin to activate dormant areas of his brain? He must have otherwise i don't think Danny wouldn't of had it in him to fire of that bolt.

JTM Merlin said "the human race could not have advanced that much". That does not exclude a single human from doing so.

JTM Merlin said "the human race could not have advanced that much". That does not exclude a single human from doing so. That's technically true. But Merlin was responding to the fact that Daniel, a human, had said that he was ascended. Merlin was saying that Daniel shouldn't have been able to ascend because he was human, and humans wouldn't have been able to ascend in 1000 years. |

He memories actually didn't contain all of the ancient knowledge. When Daniel was asked if he had Merlin's memories, and he said, "some of them". That device wasn't filled with all of the Ancient knowledge like the previous two similar devices. Exactly this device only contained what Merlin put into it. He obviously put in how to make the weapon. Merlin knew he didn't have enough time to do it, so he did it that way so that Daniel could do it. That's technically true. But Merlin was responding to the fact that Daniel, a human, had said that he was ascended. Merlin was saying that Daniel shouldn't have been able to ascend because he was human, and humans wouldn't have been able to ascend in 1000 years. That is also true. Merlin was responding to the comment Daniel had made about having been ascended. He also said that Oma saw something in Daniel or she wouldn't have helped. BTW, I did like how Merlin spoke about Oma, "she still hasn't learned." I guess Oma being Oma has been going on for quite some time, LOL! |

Loved this episode.
Favorite part: Sam finally giving it to Ba'al! That was awesome! Sucks: Why did Ba'al have to get shot? I love Cliff Simon and those outfits he wears! Vala finally comes to the realization that she belongs somewhere and it hurts. Teal'c's face as he realized the dragon is coming for him and his comment to Sam and Ba'al that they work well together are priceless! |

Daniel said that Merlin gave him all the memories of his time on Atlantis, I believe his time on earth, and all the mid-evil period societies around the galaxy. So obviously Merlin gave him more things than just the information about the sangreal. |

I think basically what happened, was that instead of the Ancient Knowledge in it's entirety, Merlin's simply transferred.....Merlin.
I get the feeling that the writers of this episode did not think that each Ancient would individually contain "All the Knowledge of the Ancients". Think when they said said he got Merlin's memories, he got 'em all. Only time will tell if we get an answer... |

I agree that the Dragon SFXs were really under the best quality that the show has.
I loved the naming of the dragons- especially T's "Puff" line. Proves how much Earth stuff he knows. Oh, & T grabbing Mitchell, & holding him until Mitchell said T could do the C4 thing. More frequently, the episodes start to become Danny/Vala orientated. But this episode, & "Momento Mori" have to be the best Danny/Vala episodes. Claudia is a fantastic actress, & this episode proves she can perform amazingly in a show like SG1. Her line when he went all weird- her voice suddenly changed mid-sentence. I thought it was effective, & shows how much she likes him. Found the line! It was: "And don't tell me you're fine." (had to look it up) Ba'al really started to get up my nerves. I ended up sitting there on my couch, almost yelling at my TV to Sam "Kick him! Kick him!" (which means kick him in the nuts- my sister (who was watching it with me) came up with that, & I got carried away). I was egging her on, & cheered when she finally punched him! And my sister at the very end of the episode- as the credits began- she turned to me, & said "kill him" (in reference to our Danny). I totally disagree with her- as if they'd kill him off 9 episodes from the end of the season. |
