Haha. I found this quite amusing.
Because I'm pretty sure I've read the same thing he was talking about at least a billion times on this website. That's cool, though. I wonder how many people who have no knowledge of Stargate SG-1 watched that and thought..."What the hell is going on?" Hahah. Awesome. |

Yeah, I think his segments are meant to be un-appealing to the public. But this isn't his first bit about SG1.
Also, he was in the 200th episode as a zombie, and was on the 'behind the stargate' thing before the season started. |

I have posted previous segments from Pierre Bernard. I think the last one was here in August 2005.
P.S. Ben, you avatar image is broken. |

I'm sure everyone on this site was bowing to the Recliner of Rage for that one. Way to go Peirre. And Mark Stern is my #1 enemy as well
I think it just shows you something that Sci-Fi's Parent company NBC aired something against one of their own employees. Come on We cant loose our Fantasy Threesome |

Sci-fi really needs to listen to him this time. Although it may be that SG1 has to put a new channel on the map every 5 years. I cancelled my Showtime subscription when it moved to Sci-fi. I don't mind following it to a new channel or time, wherever it ends up, just as long as it keeps playing. I've kind of been hoping G4 would use it to help launch their network into the mainstream with Sci-fi, USA, Comedy Central, and the like. They could show SG1 instead of the Star Trek and Arrested Developement reruns, and attract more viewers to their awesome Attack of the Show. But wherever it ends up, I'll watch it.

Since Sci-Fi no longer wish to show SG-1, the chance that we will see SG-1 again is tiny. |

I have a differnet take on it. When I had told my husband about it he had asked if it was mocking the fans. In some ways I think it was. I love Atlantis but I couldn't get myself into Battlestar Galactica. That would explain why they showed it. I haven't seen any of the other "recliner of Rage" segments so I can't be certain on that. The only thing I can tell for cetain is that they were using it to promote Atlantis and BSG (why in the world they didn't mention the New Doctor Who, which is also being shown I don't know, maybe Rose is seen as a little young or something) and the SciFi Fridays.
I liked the segment but after my husband pointed it out I had a sour taste in my mouth. |

They aren't "using" it for promotion, it's a segment on the Conan show. It's unrelated to SG-1, Atlantis, or BSG.
EDIT: Well, I guess it depends on which company owns the SciFi channel and which one owns... what's Conan on.. NBC? It could be the same company.. and then that would mean they are related This post has been edited by Janos: Sep 12th 2006, 2:36 PM |

Actually, if you go here, it shows a pretty interesting chain of ownership. This post has been edited by Sighfienerd: Sep 12th 2006, 3:04 PM |

Since Sci-Fi no longer wish to show SG-1, the chance that we will see SG-1 again is tiny. That contract only extends through season 10. The rest of that season has to air on Sci-fi. But since they decided not to renew the show, SG1 can move to another network after the season ends. MGM owns the right to the Stargate franchise, not Sci-fi. It's the same as when Showtime decided not to renew it, and when Buffy hopped networks too. Unless Sci-fi has some kind of contract with MGM that allows them to squat on the property without ordering any new episodes... But I don't think that's likely. |

No, it doesn't. They have said that their contract with Sci-Fi includes any new episodes. If it only meant season 10 then MGM would have found another network by now.

Funny segment. I laughed my head off at his Holy Trinity of Tapping, Luttrell, and Park. They happen to be my husbands favorite part of Sci-fi Friday too.
