How many cabins does Jack have? I could have sworn his cabin was in Minnesota, not Colorado.
Weird episode. It reminded me of a SciFi Original Movie, but it had marginally better character development. I liked Landry and Mitchell's scenes. The rest was...weird. I'm not sure what to make of it. This post has been edited by xayeidemon: Aug 11th 2006, 9:02 PM |

There were a lot of great little quibs in this ep. They went out of thier way to point out that Vala knows what she is doing.
Sam: I'm not much of a gambler. Teal'c: That much is obvious. |

I liked it. An episode produced by M&M that didn't suck... damn.. I guess given the fact they write so many, not all of them are going to be terrible. I didn't catch who wrote it though...
This one was definitely intense, I liked that. I didn't like the Voyager-esque cop out though. *Side Note* When ST: Voyager was on, they found dozens of ways to make it back home from being trapped on the other side of the galaxy. But it always burned out, backfired, would cause someone somewhere to suffer, etc... and it would never work. They did the same thing at the beginning of SG-1. Everytime they found some cool advanced technology, something always happened so that they couldn't use it. Hathor's sarcophagus got destroyed, the Nox closed their gate, Ancient knowledge caused physical harm, the Touchstone device nearly caused the death of other people..... And all of a sudden, our fancy Sodan cloaking devices don't work anymore. Course... didn't really know we had that many Sodan cloaking devices, but finding out we'd never be able to use them safely still irks me. An Ancient cloaking device that possibly the Ori couldn't even detect and it's useless. But that being the only thing that pissed me off, I did like this episode! I'd write more, but I'm watching Atlantis! EDIT: Oh, and I liked finding out Landry was a complete dork! This post has been edited by Janos: Aug 11th 2006, 9:23 PM |

I thought that was an okay episode. i didn't know that Mitchell and the Gen. were that far apart, it always seemed that they were better friends than that.
schmoo02: I thought that was a great stare down too. LOL. |

Not nuts about this one. The Landry-Mitchell bits seemed forced to me. Maybe they're just trying to make the point that these two aren't comfortable with each other.
I kept trying to picture Jack and General Hammond holed up in a cabin together and I couldn't quite get it in focus. The only thing I like is the Carter/Vala scenes, there is a nice rhythm in their scenes. And on a strictly personal note, can't wait to get Daniel back. |

Carter can still use the Goa'uld's hand device though. She should have been carrying around one of those since season 2. It would have came in handy once or twice. |

Exactly. The stuff that isn't destroyed is forgotten about. It gets old. You'd think they'd be past that by now. We have interstellar ships and kick ass fighters. Since the Ori are so powerful, it'd be nice to have something small equaling their power.
The cloaking PJ's in Atlantis aren't ruining the story, they're still coming up with lots of plotlines even though there's technology the Wraith can't penetrate. But it's same old, same old on SG-1.... *sigh* |

That whole Landry used to be fat was was also quite entertaining.
I'm watching the ep for the second time, and the look that Teal'c gave Carter when she sent him along with Vala to the planet. Gotta love the Dell commercial with Cam and Landry on the porch. This post has been edited by JTMAG1: Aug 11th 2006, 10:10 PM |

I must say that Mitchell was driving one sweet classic Mustang. I arrived midway through the first run tonight and watching the encore now. I'll share my thoughts later but the classic Mustang is the hotness!

Pretty good episode, some classic moments and a memorable showing of O'neill's cabin as well. It's nice to see animals for a change, I must say, though, this wasn't quite the type I would like to see at each world visited.
It has always been so quiet in every world's woods whenever the team goes out, wish the editors would make some sort of alien bird-like sounds in the background, just so we know there are native species. Get ready for the 200th episode next week Friday folks! Yeah! (Not to mention seeing those ever elusive Furlings...hopefully it's not some prank by the producers) This post has been edited by Aquila: Aug 11th 2006, 10:20 PM |

Somehow I thought that you might be commenting on that ;) Honestly, some of the parts of the episode were funny but overall it felt like some lame Saturday night Sci Fi original movie. Also, did anyone else think that the creatures at the end looked like mutated frogs? |

Good episode, I thought Atlantis was better, but this was still good, at least we finally got to see some animal from another planet, I mean the little cute thing they explained was indigneous to that planet before it was mutated by that slug. I liked Atlantis so much that I havent anything left to say about this one so.......

I thought Landry was just messing with Mitchell with the Bird calling that he was doing since he smirked when Mitchell walked away? |

Okayyyy...
Things I liked: Teal'c playing poker. Vala being a smartass about the Cabin trip. Mitchell jumping at a gunshot. And able to identify the weapon and ammo used. While on vacation. Mitchell's quip about his job. Mitchell and Landry geting freaked and nearly shooting each other when the power goes out. During a storm. At night. Some stupid laughs along the way. The Pig Demon from Doom...invisible...hunted by trigger-happy rednecks. Vala scaring the hell out of Mitchell. Landry is a geek. Landry is a geek! XD Nice Zat play by Teal'c during the autopsy. Things it could have done without: "A warrior must know when to fold-em" Vala being a smartass every 5 seconds. I thought Vala established herself as a valuable member to the rest of the team early in season 9 and over the past few episodes in season 10. Yet Carter and Mitchell still haven't cut her a little slack. Carter lapsing into treknobabble to explain where the evil dimensional millipedes are coming from. I was groaning through that whole conversation. It's time like that I miss Jack's protests for Carter to speak english. I really hope it's not gonna start doing the Voyager japanese. The whole interdimensional bug thing really required some suspension of disbelief. So where were those things when the Crystal Skull thing happened? Or with Merlin's device in "Arthur's Mantle"? Those all worked roughy the same way. Plus it kind of sounds like the whole slug "what turns slightly ooky people into monsters" from the Doom movie, which isn't exactly good source material. Ahh...the Trust get mixed in? The dude doesn't want to believe they've been taken over by the Goa'ould? Has he been brainwashed or is he -50 wisdom? Akward set up. Only comes togeather in the very end. Area 51 has horrible security. Yeah...if that's Lexa Doig, I'll go watch a whole run of Gundam Seed without making the backhand motion with my hands. They had to have Lam for less than five minutes in this episode that bad? Excuse to have a Doom monster hunting SG-1. Atlantis was better than SG-1 this evening. Whouda thunk? |

QUOTE The Pig Demon from Doom Thats what I was trying to remember earlier, I swear it looked like a straight rip off from the Doom games rmembering that now, I thought it was real funny when Landry told that Sheriff that there is nothing to worry about then the mutated monster jumps out and eats him! |

Teal'c tells VALA, "It is one and we are many. That is why we will prevail" Teal'c knows that superior numbers do know always win the fight. If that were true, this show woulda ended after Children of the Gods.
Carter tracked the creater with her scanner, and could tell that it was circling them, but she couldn't tell that there were two of them? Also, there was a lot of missing and bullets hitting trees, while the creature was relatively stationary. Aren't they supposed to be better shots?
