I just had a cool thought how about and i only mean this for when atlantis has 3 zpms. a battle mode

Well they kind of already have guns.
 I'm not sure how many more they need. True though that we don't know how many guns they have, but a transforming city I'm not too sure of. |

Atlantis is only armed with three drone launchers. They are controlled from the single chair platform. They have no need of any other weapons as the drones can reach orbit and take out any vessel.

I was just thinking that, what next a flying city hahaha...oh nevermind. There might be something else to defend the city but I doubt it would be a transforming apartment block

Flying city eh? Good idea. Lets mail the writers.
I do not think the city needs a 'battle mode'. The shield and drone weapons are more than adequate to protect and attack. I suppose they could install some pulse weapons... but I do not see the point. |

it also goes against the ancients pascifist beliefs. they probaly only installed the drones as a defense mechanisum mabye in case they meet the orii, or could have added then in the pegasus war with the wraith.

The ancients aren't pacifists. The current ascended ones are now, or don't interfere. But it was never said by that point that they were pacifists. If they were they probably wouldn't have built all the weapons. They knew they wouldn't encounter the Ori, I don't think they doubted that. At the time they made atlantis they were still in the mood to build guns and weapons. |

The Ancients have never had pacifist beliefs. They have always been willing to fight when necessary. Look at their war with the Wraith - they fought for a hundred years. That's not the action of a pacifist.

I agree with Dafmeister the Alterrans never had pacifist beliefs except for those ascended and those in the process of being ascended minus a few renegade ascended beings, Orlin SG1 and the ascended women that defends that planet SGA (Can't remember name or episode) for example.
But getting back to the main subject of the thread Atlantis has no need for a battle mode and even if it does already we will not know till either they have three fully powered ZPMs, they accidently find "Secondary Weapons control Room" in the vast city or if they decrypt it from the Alterran Database! thats not true about orlin and i think you mean oma. they believe that the ancients were wrong to not interfere in our plain,but even when they interfere they only use defensive methods.

So no i did not mean her. hmmmph.. but i must admit.. only having drones/shields.. juist doesnt cut it for me..
there must be some other type of enery weapon on atlantis... u dont see cruisers/battleships/destroyers only being armed with missiles, they have their anti-aircraft/ BFG cannons |

In 'The Seige' they shot down Wraith darts and in 'Condemned' they damaged a Cruiser in one shot. There was no need for any other weaponry because they drones were effective in whichever way they were used. |

Why would the drones be offline? As long as Atlantis is powered they can be used. They have a ZPM so they aren't going to run out of power for a while.
