Are you talking about the sleeve that the DVD cases go in? You could contact the store you got it from to see if they can order one or have a spare one. Otherwise your best bet would be to sell them on Ebay (minus the sleeve) and put the money towards a new boxset.

I was browsing in BJ Wholsesale Club yesterday, and I have to admit, the Slim packaging is a defintite plus for someone with limited shelf space like yours truly. Okay, so I'll have 7 seasons in big boxes and 1 in slimline (I refuse to accept the last two seasons as part of my SG-1 Collection...yes I live by the river of D'Nial, and its a lovely view
Sorry, but as an anime fan (and X-files fan) I've seen too many repackagings of popular titles, so I'm a bit wary of going down that road. I'll stick with what I've got. This post has been edited by mithwriter: Oct 11th 2006, 4:24 PM |

You can get season 8 in the big box or the slim box, if you shop around.
There are still some on Amazon. |

No, there has been no official news yet. There are signs that they may be released soon. HMV have lowered the earlier Stargate boxsets to half price, similar to what they did when the X-Files boxset sets were released in the slim packaging. |

Yeah but HMV tend to do that most years anyway, I got all my larger boxsets at half price usually from HMV.

For awhile both Best Buy and Suncoast Video had the 'Big Boxes' for Buy one get one free. I don't know if they still have them for that deal though.
But I bought my season 9 DVDs the day it came out and I'm still kind of off beat seeing all the 'big-boxes' next to the slim cases. But then again It'll look better one the newer Atlantis season coming out. |

It would appear that region 2 will have series 9 in the old-style large cases. Which is excellent news (at least I think so). Unless the pictures on those sites are just mockups, which might be the case, but hopefully not!
http://www.sendit.com/dvd/item/7001000130033 http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/RGNCS/3-/32718..._9/Product.html I forgot to add, it's retailing at around £45, which is the downside I suppose. We're still being royally ripped off here. Attached image(s)

Well, I don't think it's filmed in HD, so it shouldn't matter if you buy this version or a version released in an HD format. Although, the number of discs should be like... one, not five.

Both shows have been made with HD equipment since 2004. We just don't get to see it that way in the United States. Also, SG-1 was shot on 35mm film from season 4 onwards, so that can easily be converted to HD. It's the season 1-3 stuff (shot on 16mm) that looks grainy when blown up to HD resolutions. |

Is that why the picture looks odd on the regular DVDs as well? Like an old movie would look? (side note, as long as we're talking about DVDs - yay! I now have seasons 1-9 slim cases. Hasn't this already been put to rest? Sony originally stated they were considering releasing the empty cases. MGM no longer uses Sony to release its DVDs, Fox now distributes MGM DVDs. We can therefore assume the empty boxsets are never going to go on sale.
