Yeah it is great news on both parts. I really like vala and she would make a great cast member. Its also good on the daniel front as there was some doubt about him. Looks like i will carry on watching then
Plus it seems like carter is going to be in sg1 full time, not crossing over to atlantis for half of the show. Which is darn good!! Season 10 looks like its gonna rock |

Thanks Arcady good to know they have all signed up. I was getting worried about MS and AT.
Invisible where does it say there that AT will not be crossing over into SGA on a regular basis? It does not. Given the producers fear of having two women on the show in the limelight I doubt they will just have CB come on as a 5th SG-1 team member. Though, that is how I would like it to happen. More depth to the storylines than. |

I was more refering to gateworlds link which states that: QUOTE Ben Browder ("Cameron Mitchell"), Amanda Tapping ("Samantha Carter"), Christopher Judge ("Teal'c"), Michael Shanks ("Daniel Jackson"), and Beau Bridges ("Hank Landry") will return for the record-breaking tenth season of SG-1. That sounds more likely to me that shell be on sg1 full time rather then crossing over. But i dont know about that, it is still speculation its just from that it does sound more likely that she will. The links here. I thought that neither Amanda nor Michael had signed up for the new series as of yet. We know that Amanda will sign but Michael has had tv offers and hasnt signed yet.
There is nothing to say that Amanda wont appear on both shows. TPTB have said they are stuck with what to do with Sam, so having her on both shows may breath some much needed life into her. |

I dont think theyd say it if he hadnt. Take this as official confirmation that he has. And that amandas signed some form of deal. According to Michael Shanks On Line, Michael, Amanda, Chris, Beau and Ben have all signed their contracts for Season Ten. Claudia Black will move from guest star to cast regular.

I say they try to sign Rygel next and rename the show Fargate SG-1. They'll be two-thirds of the way there as it is....

Then they'd be sued by the people who make Aqua Teen Hunger Force. "Its the Fargate, not to be confused with the Stargate!" they stole cable tv with the fargate. aah, adult swim. and Rygel would be pretty sweet, heh. |

Although I might enjoy a FEW of the episodes containing the new lot, is it just me or does it seem like Stargate SG-1 is taking in actors from a series that just wasn't wanted on Sci-Fi? Stargate is adopting, so if ur a failed actor from any other sci-fi series or hell any other series apply now!

I'm very glad to read that MS has signed on for Season Ten. And I kinda figured they'd allow Black to become a regular cast member. Perhaps her character will be toned down slightly, I like her none the less though.

I know they were both in farscape but that doesnt mean the show has anything to do with it. It was a few years ago, and theyre both talented actors so whats the problem with using them. Farscape has nothing to do with sg1...good for the actors! This post has been edited by invisible painting: Nov 22nd 2005, 9:05 AM |

Yeah, it wasn't wanted so much that they created a special miniseries after the show was cancelled because the fans just didn't want to see anymore of it. |

Happy Days,
My intuition about a 5 Member Team was correct. I am very glad that Vala will be part of SG-1. For all you Farscape Fans, I personnally like the EX-Farscape actors, but not because I was a Farscape fan, but because they are good actors. Therefore forget about constantly harping on the Fargate theme. The actors were given the job because they were available and are not just mantle pieces or that SCIFI was guilty of canceling Farscape. Let it rest and enjoy them in their newest endeavor |

Awesome news. I am happy because I feel she would make a good love interest for Daniel.
Plus, she really made the transistion between a O'Neill SG1 to a non-O'Neill SG1 easier for us purists to take. Rocks out . . . and BACK IN BUSINESS. |

QUOTE(Arcady @ Nov 21st 2005, 2:21 PM) Sci Fi Channel announced today that Claudia Black? Vala Mal Doranhas been signed on as a regular cast member for Stargate SG-1's 2006-2007 season! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Why???? She is the most annoying character ever on Stargate. I had trouble dealing with her for 5 episodes, and I don't know if I can put up with her for a whole season. Well if they wanted it so badly they should have had a proper series, and not a miniseries. If it was so great Sci Fi would have invested in a full 20 eps or more to please the massive fan base that wants it back so badly. QUOTE(Dafmeister @ Nov 22nd 2005, 7:51 PM) Was it? I think it was broadcast on our version of the Sci-Fi channel and it just didn't seem to get off the ground. Its not a bad series, but it can't touch Stargate. And actually Daf I don't think it went to terrestrial, maybe BBC 3. |

I'm sure that as Vala's character is explored further, we'll see lots of other facets of her. We already have seen some of that in the episode where she was using the healing device. I think her affect on Daniel is great, because she also brings out a previously unexplored side of his character. She has such an intense personality, that it's difficult not to react to her, one way or the other. |
