QUOTE(Commander-Thor @ Aug 11th 2005, 11:08 PM) The situation may not be as hopeless as it sounds, Perception have released a statement over on their site saying that production is still underway, and that they are taking legal action against high ranking officials at JoWooD. Perception Pty Ltd Thanks for the info. I have added it to the original story. |

Since it's titled SG-1: The Alliance is it refering to the alliance of four (asgard, nox, furlings and ancients)?

Well, that was a waste of time other than saying the game is still being developed, which is what was already posted here. Rocks out. EDIT: BTW, I don't know what's worse: someone interviewing me and asking questions to which they correct and bash themselves for asking the questions right after, or someone not editing out those asinine questions and follow-up responses before publishing said interview. Poor editing and interviewing skills shown on their part. EDIT #2: Nice pics at the end though, especially this one: Click for Spoiler This post has been edited by ColonelJackO'NeillRocks: Aug 12th 2005, 10:58 PM |

Perception Pty Ltd Heh. I was 100% right! (see my below post) Take that JoWooD, you try to screw over the Aussies, we'll make you pay. QUOTE(Rogue Ashrak @ Aug 8th 2005, 5:00 PM) I'm seriously pissed off at JoWooD. From what I'm hearing the game looked fine. This is nothing more than a grab for cash on their part as with the recent new console announcments they know they can get more money out of the title if the delay it for a next-gen release. And then they shift the blame on to Perception with this lame "It's not good enough" bullsh*t, to justify their contempt for us consumers. From what I've heard Perception had the rights to the License not JoWooD, so their attempt to claim all rights to the code and whatnot looks like an attempt to screw Perception out of all the hard work they've done. Go Perception, I hope you kick JoWooD's ass out of court, and find a more worthy publisher to bring us what is sure to be a great game. |

I am just hoping, no matter who is at fault, that the game is not delayed for too long and that it is of high quality.
It does seem alittle like "They said that, blah, blah, blah" games between the two and I think that the guilty party, no matter which one it is, should get thier asses in action and give us the game that we have been waiting for. |

Hey Arcady,
Can we change the title of this news article to something a little less dramatic please? The game has not been cancelled, and never was. Only the partnership between JoWooD and Perception is terminated. Perception are continuing the development of The Alliance and will be seeking a new publisher as soon as the legal issues with JoWooD are out of the way. Thanks. Ryster p.s. I'm new to these forums (but a regular visitor of the site itself), so please dont flame me :-) This post has been edited by Ryster092: Aug 13th 2005, 12:31 PM |

Just keep the money till it is released. Perception havent stopped developing the game. Perception were about to break ties with JoWooD anyway but JoWooD preempted them, making it look like it was JoWooD's decision to leave. |

Indeed, according to an interview with the lead developer at perception I read yesterday, production of the game is continuing uninterrupted. From what I have read, perception issued JoWooD with a "we are about to terminate the contract" notice due to multiple contract breaches by JoWooD and it now seems that JoWooD decided a dirty tricks campaign would be a good idea to pre-empt this with. I think this will strongly back-fire on JoWooD and I hope it does. |

I think he meant that he made a deposit in order to obtain a pre-ordered copy. Were they already offering those? Seems a little premature.) Mini-Jack, Im not sure what store you pre-ordered from or what their policy is regarding this stuff, but I would try going back and explaining the situation if you wish to cancel your order. They should understand. Unless of course you got it from Electronics Boutique, who are in my opinion the biggest rip-offers in the buisness. You may have some trouble there..... I rented the Atlantis pilot at Hollywood Video yesterday and on it, they had some screen caps and the trailer in DVD format for the game.
If for anything, rent it for this. Yea, the box set is coming but the pictures and the trailer is very inspiring. JoWood is blowing smoke up the arses of the public. They looked to be ON TRACK with this game. Everything looked so well done, including the Prometheus (damn, I still can't spell that damn word, LOL), which I severely hate. And off the soapbox I go. Rocks out. |

Its backfired on Jowood.
The share price on the 5th of August it was at 1.04EUR, when they released their press release about Perceptions contract. Immediately on the monday it was down to 0.84EUR. This has been steadily going down and now it's at 0.38EUR - thats about a third of their share value in 2 weeks. If they don't go into administration soon then I'd be very surprised!!! |
