I don't think they would get married. The most likely possibility IMO is for them to try and start a normal relationship. They've worked together for 8 years and it wouldn't be smart to get to marriage right away. You got to get to know the other part of the person, more informal one, that is.

yeh i think they'll start a long distance relationship! even tho i know that there's been a lot of speculation about their ranks and the rules now that things have changed (trying to avoid a spoiler)... but i think if she was still under his command as many have suggested... they still might carry on a secret relationship because he has actually moved elsewhere... and its not direct chain of command???!!! What do u guys reckon?!

I really think that the whole marriage thing will happen soon because that's all that's left to do with the characters. I mean, yeah they could have a secret relationship but I think that if the producers actually let the two get together they would go the whole 9 yards with it. If only...

We will all have to wait and see what happens in season nine. who know, they might get married, i think it would be great if that happen and for them to have twins, boy and a girl. I think that they would call their son Jacob George O'Neill and there daughter Janet Grace O'Neill. what do you guys think?

I think they would go great to gether i hope the realize that they really love each other and get married when Jack retires.It will be a late marrage but it will be nice.

You know I'dve always had this kind of feeling that a Sam/Jack relationship would be far from conventional if it ever happened. I think It'd be one of those relationships where the couple obviously are nuts about each other but don't really show much public affection or make much in the way of commitment to each other.
Thing is, as you get older you become very much more selfish than you were in your youth. I know I am, and a huge part of me would not like anything to interupt my nice happy lifestyle and stop me going on forgien holidays etc. I think J and S would be the same sort of. He wouldn't want to move in with her because that would mean giving up his house and she wouldn't want to move in with him because that would mean giving up her house. Both would want to keep their own space and neither would want to live in each others pockets. I can see them being a bit like the odd couple and only moving in together when age and neccesity deem they need someone to take care of them. So I don't think marriage or kids is in the mix, but I do see them being together in a sort of "hey we're not together but we kind of are" way... ...well, unless he knocks her up then I reckon he'd do the honourable thing. Of course none of that is happening while there's regs. |

I seriously doubt that there will be more ship implied and that the writers could get S&J married. Too much of "roses" besides the anti-shipper viewers wouldn't be happy about it to say the least.
I'm a shipper but even I wouldn't like much more shippy scenes than there have been until now. It's an action series not a soap opera! Btw is it just me or there's much more action in the Shipper Heaven part of the forum as usually? This post has been edited by Ilzy: Jun 22nd 2005, 12:12 PM |

I'd just like some kind of confirmation that they were in a relationship of sorts-however conventional or otherwise. Unless that's what's implied at the end of Season 8. (I've seen Threads but not the Moebius eps yet).
I'm an incurable romantic, but even I think that an on-screen wedding might irritate the anti-shippers just a little too much. |

Wow i've been away for so long, i've got sooo much catching up to do.
Anyway i couldn't agree with you more Teags, with RDA being absent for most of season 9 the best way to keep both shippers and anti-shippers happy is to imply a relationship off-screen. |
