Here are some ground-rules for this thread, so we don't end up with 35 pages of material again:
Please do not post anything which is not related to broadcast schedules in Australia in this thread. If you wish to discuss specific episodes, please use the appropriate area of the forums: Specific SG-1 Episode Discussion Specific Atlantis Episode Discussion If you want to talk about issues that affect Stargate in Australia, but are not related directly to schedules, please use the new Australian Thread. Any off-topic posts here will be moved to that thread. If you have updated TV schedule info, or any corrections, please post it here or send me a PM and I will update the first post in the thread. Thanks |

This is going to be tricky.
depends what moderators call related to the broadcast schedule... But i think this may be on topic... Is that Atlantis schedule the same for every state, or just Melbourne? because when i was on in melbourne they had it showing, the premiere episode...and because i only watch pay tv i wouldn't have a clue. Any news on when we'll have another TV1 marathon of SG1? and any news on if atlantis will be on foxtel? |

sorry Christy but i don't have an answer to any of your questions.
here's one from me though: remember how the Sci Fi Channel ran that special, From Stargate to Atlantis: A Sci-Fi Lowdown? does anyone know if us Aussies are ever gonna be able to catch that? if not on the telly, you reckon they'll be nice enough to put that on the DVDs - maybe the season 8 boxset of SG-1 or the season 1 of Atlantis (or both)? i seriously hope they do coz i really wanna see that. and are we ever gonna get to see Prometheus Unbound?! Does anyone here know when Australia will be getting Season 2 of Stargate Atlantis and if we are getting it here at all? I know we haven't finished season one yet but I was wondering if we are getting it the same time as the States or we are going to have a break and go back to Stargate SG1 or wil they be showing them both at the same time?

I Just want to add that I have just looked in my cable Tv guide (Optus) and they seem to in Australia (Queensland) Have Stargate SG-1 on TV1 (Channel 1) at 23:20 Now not 19:20 I noticed it changed about two months ago Stargate Atlantis comes on channel 7 at 23:30 all tho you will find the time varies by about 5 minutes |

Season 1 of Atlantis has been put on hold- at least for all those in Victoria. This leaves 6 episodes left in the season.
Also, Prometheus Unbound has probably been kept as a lead-up to the new season of Stargate SG-1. I think this is right, as I know PU introduced a character which appears very early in the next season. I look forward to both Prometheus Unbound and the new season of SG-1, as BB & CB are very familiar to me, due to watching Farscape. |

Oh!
And I'd really want to get over excited to hear the possibility of PU being shown soon, but last time I did that it didn't end up airing. Till I get my tv guide for that week (that 28th is in), I'm just gonna keep my fingers crossed. Anyway.......all we can do for now is sit, hope, &.....what's next? AHHH!....PRAY! |

Why is channel 7 showing the cricket? I thought Channel nine had the rights to that.
I called channel 7 and asked when Stargate Atlantis would be back on. They first said it would be back on in two weeks but now they are saying 4 weeks!! but that was a about a week and a bit ago. Apparently the reason why they took it off air was they needed a show that only went for half an hour between Amazing Race and the Cricket so the Cricket could start on time at 11.00pm. Stargate Atlantis got the chop because the show runs for an hour. Why couldn't they just set the cricket back for half an hour I mean the first 30mins of cricket is just the commentators talking about stupid pitch conditions!!!!! grr!!! |

Ok people here is some good news from Stargate News Australia:
SG-Atlantis Set To Return To Our Screens Removed from the airing schedules of two networks to make way for the cricket from the UK, spokespersons from Channel Seven and Southern Cross networks told Stargate News Australia today that Stargate Atlantis would return to our screens on Thursday 14th July 2005 at 1030pm (Seven) and 1130pm (Southern Cross) with episode 1.15 Before I Sleep. As we approach the business/cliffhanger end of Stargate Atlantis, the subject of the outstanding Stargate SG-1 episode Prometheus Unbound ought be discussed, some time back Stargate News Australia wrote to the Seven Network and suggested that the episode would roughly fit in with the premise of Stargate Atlantis episode "Letters From Home", we have been told that this suggestion was accepted and all being well PU should hit our screens on the evening of Thursday 28 July 2005. I can't comment too much on the schedule of Channel 7 other then to say, It took long enough.
TV1 on Foxtel is currently showing Season Four SG1 Monday To Thursday at 23:20 (next ep should be 2010), Fridays it shows Season Five at 19:30 (next ep should be 2001) and Sundays they show Season Six at 22:10 (next ep should be Nightwalkers) Does anybody know if there will be a Stargate Marathon coming soon? Can anyone confirm the truth to the rumors that Foxtel has a Sci Fi Channel in the works? |

It seems other shows keep overrideing stargate. Once again anouther show is own when stargate on channel seven in qld should be on........... Alias (have to admit its not a bad show but prefer stargate any day)
I was wondering if there is any more updated information like will they be showing season two of atlantis or the last ones of SG1 anytime soon. Seasons normally take about 20 weeks but this one is up to like 30 weeks and its not finished yet..... they keep putting other shows on. |

It's taken Melbourne's Ch 7 ages to finally show Prometheus Unbound. Last week neither SG-1 or Atlantis were shown, due to that premiere of Alias. But now, after months of waiting, it's gonna be shown. I just hope they don't do a repeat of 'the Brotherhood' (it got cut off-air part-way through, just for a crappy news break. They just couldn't wait till AFTER Atlantis. So this stuffed up their whole screenings. they had to replay it the following week, putting themselves a week behind schedule.)
Anyway...Each night, before I hop into bed, I'm gonna cross my fingers. I'll pray that PU will be shown. That's all we can do till Thursday. |

Update On Aussie Stargate Schedule
A Network Seven spokeswoman told Stargate News Australia last week that the Stargate SG-1 Season 8 episode Prometheus Unbound will be aired on Thursday 18th August and the Stargate Atlantis Season One ep The Gift will be aired on Thursday 25th August 2005. Prometheus Unbound was originally placed at episode twelve in the scheme of things, but was dropped from the Aussie schedule because it has a minor reference to the members of the Atlantis expedition. The episode features a full on test of General George Hammond, played, as always, exceptionally well by Don S Davis. more information at: http://www.gasbo.net/stargate/news.htm or join the Stargate: Australia news mailing list and have airing details e mailed to you. http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/sgnewsaus/ AND AS FOR CHANNEL SEVEN CHANGING THE DATES AGAIN........... ![]() |

Both SG1 and Atlantis have finished running, here in Australia on channel 7 (including Prometheus Unbound), and are eagerly awaiting SG1 season 9 and Atlantis season 2. Although repeats are currently running on cable TV1.

No idea as yet. Ch 7 still hasn't revealed their plans yet, but a lot of people are speculating it'll probably be after the Commonwealth Games

Yes, the winter olympics have finished.
The commonwealth games are on Nine, aren't they? So, why would that distirb Seven showing SG- unless they don't want to have new seasons of SG to compete with the C Games. I hope SG-1 and Atlantis return to our screens soon. I also hope that they give it some respect, and put it on a decent time- personally, I HATE the Amazing Race, and would like to see Stargate moved to 9:30 on Thursday, and Amazing Race put in at 10:30. That would make my Thursday viewings much better- with Lost being on at 8:30. Even if they put it on a Friday- there's practically NOTHING decent on the tele on a Friday evening; everythng's earlier that week (Monday- Cold Case; Tuesday- Simpsons, Futurama & OC; Wednesday- House, Spicks & Specks, and NCIS; Thursday- Lost & now Scrubs). |
