Yes it is sung by Russell Watson.
Here is a site where you can hear the opening sequence. http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/feat...ticle/3686.html Here is a controversial site of how the opening might have been but was not. http://www.startrek.com/startrek/videoview...d=6485&count=-1 This post has been edited by Auntie Em!: Oct 2nd 2005, 11:47 PM |

It was never intended to be the original opening. Dont forget, the shot of the astronauts was only in the s2 season finale, when enterprise was leaving after it's retrofit. So I highly doubt they wanted a new intro. At first thats what I thought it was, but then I checked the st.com database. This post has been edited by Andorian15: Oct 10th 2005, 6:53 PM |

what... you people actualy LIKE the song????? does this mean you also LIKE Enterprise??? good god what is wrong with you all????? that show is just WRONG, and the song makes absolutely no sense what so ever - i dont mean the lyrics i mean its presence. All the others have nice orchestral music - now that i sing to, or hum at least, i also have a little dance, but thats a totaly different story.
anyway my point is NO i do not sing the song, it's a stupid song on a stupid show and its mocking everything that is good about the Star Trek universe |

hm! I am not listening - I am not listening!!
Well I just love this song. I think it was a perfect fit for Enterprise. And the show itself had the potential to be better and I sure wish it would continue. This whole going back and forth in time was a bad idea and was done way too often. That's my only complain. Here is the link to something that is not particularly known even between trekkies. The original Star Trek theme music has also Lyrics to accompany it and were written by Roddenberry himself. http://www.snopes.com/radiotv/tv/trek1.htm And here are the Lyrics: Beyond The rim of the star-light My love Is wand'ring in star-flight I know He'll find in star-clustered reaches Love, Strange love a star woman teaches. I know His journey ends never His star trek Will go on forever. But tell him While he wanders his starry sea Remember, remember me. |

The Enterprise theme tune was ok during season one and two but I think it was season three when they changed it. Me and my sister were listening to it and both came to the same conclusion...
It sounded like a bad keyboard demo track!!! |

Yeah the more swing style with a happier tone to the lyrics. I did not care for it much either.

its mocking everything that is good about the Star Trek universe So was Voyager during it's last four seasons (especially it's final one where we were subjected to weak stories, poor characterisations, and plot twists that added absolutely nothing to the story as a whole), but it's strange how the fanbase is rarely ever being so hostile towards Captain Chipmunk and Chuckles... Anyway, Enterprise's fourth season was the best piece of Star Trek we've seen since DS9 ended. It's a travesty that the series was cancelled just as it started to produce something that was entertaining... |

Jesus-rock. How I detested that intro track, even more so than Archer and his cheese eating dog. |

I've just started watching Enterprise and the first time I heard the theme I hated it and fast forwarded through it. Then the next episode I actually listened to the whole thing and I love it. Weird.
I really like Enterprise. I watched Next Generation for years and watched Deep Space Nine here and there. I never gave Voyager a chance so I guess that one is next. I love Netflix. |

I LOVE the enterprise theme tune, but what they did to it in the fourth series is no less than buchery.
the full length version is wonderful. I first heard it when russell performed it at the paralympics. thus, i baught his album. thus, i became an opera fan. then i stopped listening to russell's albums, as although his voice is amazing his songs are either to poppy or hard core classical; never mind that though, he's definately worth seeing live- it doesn't matter what he is singing, only that he is singing. but he never sings where my heart will take me anymore. bah. *sniggers at gene roddenberry's attempt at putting lyrics to the trek theme tune* hehehee. |

Ummm... Roddenberry didn't do that
It'd be kind of hard for him to do much of anything. |

They get really good songs for ST series- like Voyager, DS9 and Enterprise (those are my fav ones, I hardly ever watch the others- although the Enterprise movies are pretty good).
The only bad thing was when the DUMB morons altered Enterprise's theme! It's called "Faith Of The Heart", by Russel Watson (for the show, originally Rod Stewart- even though it doesn't mention that in any credits for the show), and was SUCH a good song, I got really PISSED OFF when the altered version started. The added instruments have turned the song to sh*t- I say "Kill whoever decided to change it!". And now, now that Enterprise is back on Aussie TV, I have to put up with it's sh*t theme. At least I have the good version on Itunes, otherwise I think I might commit suicide....... That's my view on it. Laura. PS: If anyone wants to, I can post the original Enterprise theme- there's 2 versions, the show's edited down version (as heard on season 1's intro), and then there's the full 3 min version which just proves how damn good it really is- BEFORE the dumb asses changed it! |

Here is a controversial site of how the opening might have been but was not. http://www.startrek.com/startrek/videoview...85&count=-1 I would have liked that music, put to an original CGI title sequence, much better than I liked Faith of the Heart, which, imo, is a good song... |

Yeah, I liked Faith of the Heart, but I would have much preferred the traditional intro with just music.

Yeah, I liked Faith of the Heart, but I would have much preferred the traditional intro with just music. Well I was able to sing the extended version of the song for awhile... Its a good song, good lyrics... BUT, it really doesn't belong at the beginning of a Star Trek series, especially not in the Titles... IMO, Star Trek needs to become less fluffy if they are to survive. |
