A new commercial for Stargate Atlantis has started airing on the Sci Fi Channel in recent days. This new thirty second commercial features actual scenes from the new series, including the new cast, several effects and action shots, and even a couple clips of Richard Dean Anderson and Michael Shanks in their guest starrring roles. Stargate Atlantis is scheduled to begin July 16th on the Sci Fi Channel, and will run alongside Season 8 of Stargate SG-1.

Looks promising. And looks like they are still going forward with the not so good looking uniforms. But there is some nice action scenes biggrin.gif .

And from what I saw in the trailer they volunteered to go eventhough they might not be able to get home. Intresting.

Definitely looks promising and that new gate travel wormhole thing looks good too! Glad to see the show will have some humour aswell (the RDA bit!) and it should probably be on par with SG-1 as regards to how good it will be (I think)

This is the most promising commercial I've seen for Atlantis. It actually has me slightly more interested than I have been. But Major Bedhead really needs to find a comb. SG-1 has always been pretty good about USAF protocol and this 'do just don't fly.

I was a bit peeved that the commercial included an obviously unfrozen and back-to-normal Jack O'Neill. Yes, I knew he would be fine for season 8 but SciFi has a way of removing any suspense from of their programs by showing too much beforehand.

dorien, I thought the same exact thing... They did a great job building suspense in "Heroes"... even though I knew who died I found myself wondering if O'Neill really did bite it... then they go and show the Atlantis clip! Oi! I wonder about SciFi sometimes...

I don't suppose anyone can convert this trailer out of Quicktime for me? Stupid Quicktime installer says a part is missing then it can't find what ever it is on the quicktime site mad.gif

BTW, Zoidman! where did you here that ray of hope that Atlantis will Air in September!? Can't wait!!! w00t.gif

I think i read it here on the forum somewhere. But last i heard, Sky One didn't know when they would air it.

I had the same problem with the Quicktime package and had to download the one with iTunes as well. If you still want it, you can download it here.

As for the trailer, it seems that they wanted to build the suspense and keep the surprise for Atlantis - but completely forgot about Jack. We all new that was not the end of Jack O'Neill, but way to broadcast it.

I like the way the they've integrated Atlantis into the series, not as a replacement for SG-1 One, although it eventually will be, but for the moment it is a supplement to it. I really hope that it is aired in the UK. Stargate Series 8 has been confirmed but not Atlantis as of yet. Perhaps it will appear on the Sci-Fi channel over here too.
