Does anyone have any idea what the stairs in Atlantis say (leading up to the control center, etc, where the ancient writing lights up)? Else, any ideas what it should say?

Has there been confirmation that they are actually words? I realise they look like words but unless TPTB say anthing we'll never know. Personally I don't think they are words, it looks more like a random pattern. Why have writing on stairs? Not the most practical place to have any writing is it?

Maybe it's an elaborate way to say "Welcome home", in ancient, but over like 8 sentences.

.. or maybe they are just lights.

There's been no confirmation, but I was watching "The Seige, Pt III" last night, and it looked an awful lot like Ancient writing...

No I agree. If I see chinese characters on stairs I am smart enough to realize that they are words and convey something, even though I cannot read them.

I too have always wondered what the stairs say. They are ancient writing and I doubt it is decoration. Maybe a safety warnings. Like DUCK THE GATE IS OPENING! laugh.gif

I searched gateworld, but I couldn't find anything. Could you post a link, please? Do they say anything about what the stair inscription says?

I was thinking more along the lines of "Welcome. Please keep all hands and arms inside the car at all times."

Smart asses. laugh.gif

I think it is a valid question though not a nitpick. It would be nice if they told what it is that the stairs says.

Ah, missed those. I guess the 10 was more noticable because it jumped 2 spots somehow. Sucks to be him, getting shoved to the back and all whistling.gif

If you read the Gateworld article, you'll see the writer reorganised the lines because they didnt make sense.

That's not what it says, only a bunch of freaks would write simething like that. It really says "Wipe your feet before continuing on. Those that fail in this simple request will be thrown from the highest balconey while wearing concret boots. Those that can follow this request: Mi Casa, su Casa."

Show me proof it actually says that and I'll believe you. Until then, I'll believe what sgc_commander found.
