Anyone interested in co-authering a Stargate SG-1/Lord of the Rings crossover fan fic ???
I need serious ideas as to how this could be written It would be difficult to write a story where SG-1 interacts in the main LOTR story line. I feel that events would need to take place in a lesser known area of Middle Earth, for example the northeastern region of Mirkwood,Thranduils Palace,The Long lake, Dale and Mt Erebor. The time frame could be just prior to and during the War of the Ring. To keep things somewhat canon then it would be a good idea to refer to the LOTR apendix where it does describe a war in this region at the same time as the southern war. The SG connection. The Ancients had been involved in Middle Earth in the far distant past. Mithrill had been found to have fantastic properties that could be exploited by advanced technology and had been mined deep in Moria long before the Balrogs and Dwarves time. The process had to have been a covert operation that for some reason required a two stargate system. One inworld gate deep in the depths of Moria connecting to another S-gate hidden in the Ered Mithren or Grey mountains. Both hidden and unknown to the peoples of Middle Earth. The motive for SG-1 involvement could be the discovery of this remarkable metal used in some appliction which becomes so important to find that SGC embarks on a major mission to find its origin. They manage to find an unusual SG dial code which incorperates the use of chevron 9 and the system logs into the Middle Earth Gate in the north........ |

Its an idea thats just come to mind. I hope I can find someone who would find this interesting.
