For the 200th episode of Stargate SG-1, it is quite obvious why the episode is titled "200". While watching the humorous scenes between parodies and jabs at themselves, there is a semi-serious plot line. The meaning behind "200" in the episode is celebrating that it is Colonel Mitchell's 200th trip through the gate. But don't think he's been going on 200 offworld missions. As Mitchell states later in the episode, it's the number of times he's stepped through the event horizon.

The episode starts out with a simple recap of Wormhole X-Treme but includes a scene we've never seen before. SG-1 stepping through the gate and meeting an alien race fans have been wondering about for years now. You guessed it, The Furlings! These cuddly looking creatures resembling Ewoks (which I'm sure was on purpose!) are shown emerging from the forest to greet SG-1. Daniel is then shown shaking hands with one of them. Why haven't we seen anymore of them? Well cut to a scene where a Goa'uld mothership appears in orbit and starts to fire on the planet. Sam and Daniel are trying to help the Furlings in what seems to be a control center but easily fail. They are then beamed out at the last minute (how convenient!) and the Furling planet explodes!

----- BUT WAIT! When did we ever see this episode? Never! Because it's part of the new script for the Wormhole X-Treme movie. Immediately Sam interrupts the scene saying that beginning the movie with them doing something that stupid is no way to start the movie. Daniel also shows his discontent in reading the over-the-top script. Newcomer Colonel Mitchell states that it could be fun! while poor Vala feels left out that she isn't in the script at all. Apparently Wormhole X-Treme had been cancelled after 3 episodes and Daniel cannot understand how a show canned that early can be making a movie. Teal'c states that the DVD sales did well and this could be seen as a jab at the cult favorite science fiction series Firefly.

Martin Lloyd soon shows up to gather ideas and feedback on the script. Entering the briefing room on his cell phone you hear him yelling at someone that there will be no clips from the original series because "this is not a clip show". The first suggested by Mitchell is that a long entrance title is needed, Martin is quick to tell him that long titles are out and this scene cuts to a 5 second Stargate SG-1 intro. I see this as a possible poke on their own short intros from last season. The episode immediately cuts to Mitchell in the corridors in the SGC with machine guns firing and zombies that used to be SG personnel chasing him! Cut to Martin telling Mitchell that zombies are overdone and "dead".

Next scene that is a huge jab on themselves is when Martin finds out the lead actor is backing out of the role. Mitchell suggests bringing in a character to replace him (the obvious poking fun at Shanks and Anderson) while Sam suggests keeping the main character in the movie without actually having him in the movie, such as phone calls and having other characters refer to him. She then goes into telling Martin about the time "when Colonel O'Neill was invisible" which may have some fans confused but with some storybook music to show her remembering, we will soon see what it would have been like if Jack had been invisible at the SGC. This includes him having a dog drive his truck onto the base, snoring in the middle of Daniel's super important lecture and dodging Sam's technobabble without her noticing. Too bad that Martin believes invisibility can get "too complicated".

"Show the actual escape!" is what Daniel practically pleads to Martin after reading a scene in which "the team" escapes certain death from thousands of replicators and ships full of Jaffa cutting to just showing up through the gate in the SGC with virtually no injuries. This is brought up after the actual SG-1 is unable to go on their recon mission because the gate malfunctions. When Sam comes up to explain the problems, Martin instantly falls in love with her technobabble. Feeling left out, Vala approaches Martin telling him that techno talk is boring and that she has a fantastic idea. Her pitch: a plot similar to The Wizard of Oz with her starring as Dorothy with General Landry as the "ascended ancient" (Wizard) and Sam with long hair as the "Fairhaired Tok'ra" (think Good Witch) and the guys tagging along as the scarecrow, tin man and lion. Too bad Martin figures it out and starts to ignore her.

Now Mitchell is down in the command room with Sam asking her how something that has worked for 10 years can suddenly break. All of a sudden the gate begins to overload while she is running a diagnostic and calls Siler in to go manually shut the gate down. When he is electrocuted in the gateroom and slammed against a blast door he cries out "Why does this always happen to me?". Sam then informs General Landry that the gate is going to overload and they must evacuate the base. Instantly the outside of the mountain is shown and then explodes! (Could this be a jab at the recent announcement to shut down Cheyenne Mountain?) BUT! this only the end of Act Two according to Martin. He just wrote it with what was currently happening on base.

Scene 23: enter Colonel Mitchell onto ..... a ship's bridge. Yes! This is the Star Trek parody fans have been excited about since the first trailer. With Mitchell as a Kirk-ish type, I won't give away much of this because you just have to see it yourself. Look for Brad Wright's cameo though in this parody scene. Daniel is quick to point out to Martin that this basically is Star Trek.

Cameron Mitchell's best line: "Never underestimate your audience..." and isn't it the truth? Teal'c wonders why everything must explode and Martin tries to defend himself saying that the more explosions, the better the trailers and the higher number of viewers. Now Martin gets a phone call telling him that the other actors are holding out for more money before signing on.

Someone suggests younger "hipper" actors and thus begins Daniel's imagination of if Stargate was mixed with teen dramas such as The OC or Dawson's Creek. We see young Teal'c making out with a girl he wants to "tap" and young Sam telling young Mitchell he's "awesome" and giving him a passionate kiss. Cell phones have replaced radios and young Daniel is nicknamed "Whitebread" but still trying to figure out how to get home. That is until young Vala tells him.... she's pregnant. (but by who?!) Let's just say all of SG-1 gives a big Thumbs Down to that idea. But it does make one wonder...

Vala pitches her next idea to Martin: getting lost on a 3 hour mission which he quickly tells her is Gilligan's Island. He suggests she try something more obscure so she pitches another idea. Cut to a parody of Farscape with her as of course Aeryn. Surprisingly though, Daniel not Mitchell is Crichton. Sam shows up in heavy makeup as Chiana and Teal'c with some extensions on his face is the obvious D'Argo. Mitchell is seen as Stark but perhaps the most shocking character is Rygel who is portrayed by none other than Thor! Too bad Martin has no idea what show she's ripping off of.

While Martin is finding out by text message that his budget has been slashed and Act Three is virtually impossible, Vala asks Sam why they don't just give all him all the mission files since no one would believe the movie could actually be real. We receive an exact count of mission reports from Mitchell which is believes to be 1,263, 1,264 after this one. Sam corrects him saying there are already 1,264. A mission report called file "30185". Daniel and Sam say this is something they swore they wouldn't tell Mitchell. Vala asks if she can know and they say of course, that it has to do with when they went back to 1969. Mitchell says he wasn't born for another year but Daniel states that it was nine months before he was born. I won't tell you everything but let's just say that it involves Jack and "free love" of the era. But they could just be messing with Mitchell...

So with budget slashed and no actors signed onto the movie, what is left for Martin to do? Well Mitchell suggests something to the point of why even use actors? This may be the biggest surprise that hasn't been publicized by any of the teasers. Puppets! Yes. Stargate SG-1 in a puppet version. This is most definitely a play on Team America, a 2004 movie by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. In this puppet SG-1, we get a guest appearance by none other than Don S. Davis providing the voice for the General Hammond puppet. The original Stargate SG-1 episode with the Daniel character from the movie (unfortunately Spader didn't do the voiceover) is rehashed together to show us SG-1 in the puppet-verse. This could also be seen as a play on Joss Wheadon's series "Angel" when they did a parody episode where the main character was turned into a puppet. Of course, Martin rejects this idea as well.

Since every promotional teaser has featured the return of a character, you may be wondering when Richard Dean Anderson shows up as General Jack O'Neill and not just an invisible Colonel, this is it! As Martin is explaining that he must "stroke the ego" of the actors and give the audience a twist, in walks the famous General. Vala states "Well no one will expect that." but Daniel and Sam reply to her saying that there "will be spoilers" and "it'll probably be in the commercial." which was semi-true.

After the commercial break (or fade out...) the music clearly shows this is not SG-1. Instead, you see Teal'c dressed in a long trench coat and hat. The vibe is reminding me of Undercover Brother but this is "Teal'c P.I.". He's shown throwing a bad guy through his glass door proving once again that Teal'c is one badass. Yep, you guessed it. This is Teal'c pitch to Martin for a plot or tv show. Martin doesn't seem impressed but with Teal'c's threatening glare, he says he will pitch it to the producers.

So where has O'Neill been? Well where else is an Air Force General? Doing hard work in Washington D.C.? Nahh, not Jack, he tells SG-1 he's dropping in from Malibu. An obvious jab on himself (RDA that is) and quite possibly missing working on Stargate. One new memorable Jack quote includes him calling the gate an "orpheus". That one should be floating around the 'net for quite a while.

Martin interrupts telling everyone he "needs a new ending!" Jack is quick to suggest FISHING! of course. The end scene from Season 8's Morpheus is shown but with a slight twist. Vala and Mitchell are sitting in chairs fishing right alongside with Jack, Sam, Daniel and Teal'c. Wait a minute! "You weren't there!" Jack is quick to point out. Well how about something more ... emotional. How about a WEDDING? This is what Vala suggests and we flash to a wedding scene. But who is the bride? Who is the groom? Well as we see the crowd, it's not Walter... nor Teal'c .... nope, not Cameron. Could it be? We see Jack and ..... Daniel standing at the alter? Every slash fan's dream but squashed as quickly as it was shown when Daniel says to Jack "she is going to show... because if she doesn't soon people are going to think you and I..." and with an odd look from Jack, the slash fic writers will be off producing fic for years. A flash of light and THOR! Oh... it only seems that he will be officiating the wedding. Another flash! And yes, there it is, the bride: Samantha Carter with Vala as her bridesmaid. Jack and Sam shipper fans will be rolling around in this for years to come. Too bad Sam still calls Jack, "Sir". Cut to Martin back in reality shouting "Yeah right! If I wanna torture the audience on purpose!"

So how will the movie end? SG-1 certainly doesn't care because the gate is back up and running. Jack is even going through with them. General Landry tells him to look after the kids and Jack suggests he come with. He easily agrees and calls up to the gateroom to Walter. Yay! Walter finally going through the gate but oh no! he's not dressed properly. Well the magic of TV and by the time he's from the control room to the gateroom, he's dressed in a black SG uniform complete with helmet. Jack tries to invite Martin along to get ideas about the movie but at that moment Martin gets the call that Wormhole X-Treme has been renewed as a series and the movie is cancelled. As the gate starts up, Landry whispers to him "Everything ready?" and Walter replies "Yes sir." and they talk of cake, balloons and streamers. It seems there's a celebration for something waiting on the other side... but what's there to celebrate?

They step through the gate, wormhole appearing on screen and Ka-Whoosh! out comes the Wormhole X-Treme cast? "And cut!" Yes, 10 years later and Wormhole X-Treme just finished shooting their 200th episode! And what wonderful news: The movie is back on!!! The last minutes of the episode include interviews with the cast of Wormhole X-Treme and of course Martin, talking about what it's been like filming for 10 seasons. Peter DeLuise is the main character now, but it's unknown if he's Colonel Danning or if they did bring in another character. Watch out because at the end, there is some foul language! But don't worry parents because it's censored out. (A certain poke at RDA and his unwillingness to show bloopers because of the cast's language?)

With Wormhole X-Treme being SUCH a success, how could Stargate SG-1 not? Does this mean we get a movie too?

Teal'c looks creepy as the Tin Man, the puppet SG-1 looks like it will be funny and the Furlings really are Ewoks.
