Stargate SG-1's 200th Episode "200"
Episode review containing minor spoilers by Linz 8/16/2006 As a diehard Stargate fan, I have been excited about the 200th episode of Stargate SG-1 since last season when we were told that it would air during the tenth season. Now the time has finally come and Stargate SG-1 is now the longest running science fiction television series in the United States. This Friday at 9pm/8pm central, the 200th episode will air on the Sci Fi channel. As TV Guide has reported, the episode is a collection of in-jokes and parodies. There are snarky remarks to Michael Shanks and Richard Dean Anderson's departures from the show as well as scenes catering to just about every aspect of the fandom. The various parodies include Farscape, Star Trek, The Wizard of Oz and one unexpected movie by comedy geniuses Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Other television genres being poked at include seeing SG-1 in a stereotypical teen drama/romance setting as well as Teal'c being a master Private Investigator. The episode begins with recapping the fan favorite and equally funny 100th episode of SG-1 "Wormhole X-Treme". The series based on the missions of SG-1 is now in the midst of writing a script for a television movie special. Willie Garson returns as the character of Martin Lloyd, an alien first seen in Season 4's episode "Point of No Return". Martin has since written the series "Wormhole X-Treme" and returns to gather ideas from SG-1 for the upcoming movie. Some of the stories that the members of SG-1 pitch seem a bit over the top (such as Vala's Wizard of Oz parody in which she is Dorothy) but the team also recalls past experiences we've never seen before to help Martin. It's hard to tell if any of the team's recalled missions or experiences are real or not but that's what makes this episode so amusing. Fans will finally get to meet the Furlings in this episode and learn where General O'Neill conducts his "business". Jack and Sam shippers will get to see the two finally tie the knot but is any of it real? And another fan surprise, one beloved character will finally get his chance to go through the gate. Like the 100th episode, this one includes interviews with the stars of Wormhole X-Treme (look for Peter DeLuise in a different role!) and some cheesy special effects that we all know and love. This episode will surely become a fan favorite (hey! it was made for the fans!) providing non stop laughs and showing us once again that Stargate does not take itself too seriously. |

Wow, after reading all that, this episode sounds really great, so the Furlings thing, is that a real flashback and they really did meet the furlings and they really look like that or is that just a joke on how we havent met them yet, if thats the only time we see the furlings and it is just a big joke then that sucks, everything else about the episode looked funny.

I can't wait for this episode but there seems to be so much going on I think everything could look as if it was squashed together.

With the whole Team America parody, looking at the SG-1 puppets I keep expecting to hear some music start on "Stargate sg-1, fu** Yea!" like on Team America.

Hell yes
Linz and Arc, thanks for the pictures and the plot outline. I agree that it is probably going to be terribly rushed. I think the Furlings thing is a joke... Martin's idea for the beginning of the movie. |

I am not looking forward to this episode. SG-1 is a drama series, in the midst of an Ori invasion and what else, we have an episode about Martin Lloyds' movie.? Seems like such a waste of air time.
But in light of the enthusiasm that I see here from every other fan, I'll be quiet now. I hope it will all be edited together nicely, to produce a thoroughly enjoyable episode. |

I can't wait for this episode! :) It should be longer though like Season 8 Episode 18 - Threads (Special 90-minute episode) was. I think it will be a bit of a rushed episode |
